I do not recommend Spectrum Mobile. They are an MVNO on Verizon towers and when the network is congested, you have little to no connection because your priority is so low. There is also no upgrade option for a prioritized connection. I dropped them after 1 month.
I test with the following tiv samsung phones:

A14 $714
A54 $770
S23fe $880
S23+ $994
Trade in my Google Pixel 6A for $757 that I originally got from metro for $50 years ago. Makes this a true slickdeal 🫡

Has anyone's trade in shipping give an arrival/delivery date of over 2 weeks to get to Assurant? And did it really take over 2 weeks?

So glad I didn't get a S24U and went with the plus. Entire reddits about how crappy the S24U screen issues have been

Should be fixed by next week, all models were effected though I didn't see a big difference on my ultra or my wife's plus.

Traded in two S24 256GB for two S24 128GB in-store. $250 profit per device.

Also traded in the A15 5G from Metro ($40 cost) for a Motorola RAZR+ for $40 profit.

Tried to do a 4th device but was blocked.

I wonder if being blocked means you are permanently banned from doing in store phone purchases/upgrades. Others early in the thread said that their accounts were flagged/blocked for doing similar with previous deals.

Probably too many trade-ins in one go. They advised me to do it online or call to get it cleared.

How did you receive the credit? Was it a credit on your account which you can cash out later?

Are you able to see the credit in your account?

So Assurant just sent me the dreaded $0 trade in for the Moto G Play for Anti Theft. I purchased it directly through straighttalk online so not sure if that was what caused it. But I had factory reset it and made sure it was fully charged and turned off the phone, so maybe I did something wrong.

At this point I don't think anyone e has been successful appeal assurant. So I am planning on returning the phone and then requesting the the trade in back and trying to do it instore.

Only thing is I already opened the s24 but I have everything except the plastic screen cover it first comes in, so hopefully they don't deny my return also.

Got the dreaded denial. Some of which is totally bogus - no liquid damage and device powers on. I have video right before sending....

Your trade-in credit was adjusted for the following reason(s):
• Physical Damage
• LCD Damage
• Liquid Damage
• No Power

Grats, really wanted to make a visit in person but haven't had the chance to yet. I'll probably go in and see what's available and trade in my A15 as well. Not brave enough to do the S24 to S24 LOL.

Still waiting for one of my pre-order S24 Gray to be shipped.

Freaking Assurant.

Got the following email:

We've received your device and, upon inspection, have adjusted the offer. Please accept or decline the offer before 2/29/2024. See below for details and next steps.

Device and Offer Details
Make: Samsung
Model: SM-S906U1 GALAXY S22 PLUS 5G 128GB - GENERIC
IMEI: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Trade-In Credit: $170.00
Trade-In Promotion $700.00
Total: $870.00
Your trade-in credit was adjusted for the following reason(s):
• Equipment Mismatch

=====================

I sent in an unlocked 256GB Samsung S22+, and they're re-evaluated it as the 128gb version.

Granted it is only a difference of $15, and I'm not going to fight them on it, but still shitty they're trying to shortchange me.

It's not a lot of money, but it's the principle behind it; I sent in a higher value trade, I should get trade credit for what I sent in.

Is the IMEI correct? If so, should be easy to prove the hardware specifications.

Yeah.

I think the problem is when I moved 6 months ago, I went in store to set up Internet service with spectrum and they were offering one free phone line.

They screwed up a number of things, and it had always said "128GB S22+" under my spectrum account (as I was using the phone up until I sent it to Assurant for trade in).

So I'm thinking Assurant is just going off spectrums information, if you already had the phone linked to your account.

Otherwise there's no reason why the phone should have come up as 128gb instead of 256gb. Still have the box, with the IMEI/etc. on it and it says 256GB as does the settings menu in the phone (which j took pictures of before sending the phone in).

Again, just going to accept the adjusted trade in value and move on.

Definitely going to do this in store in the future, to avoid this type of thing again.

After unlocking, can you reset the device to plain android with no pre-installed Spectrum apps and also be able to get updates OTA?
