I do not recommend Spectrum Mobile. They are an MVNO on Verizon towers and when the network is congested, you have little to no connection because your priority is so low. There is also no upgrade option for a prioritized connection. I dropped them after 1 month.

Trade in my Google Pixel 6A for $757 that I originally got from metro for $50 years ago. Makes this a true slickdeal 🫡

Interesting, which tool you used to flash? The post from NotWindows?

Edit: hope this doesn't mess with using it for future trade in. As in messing with the true identity of the phone, after flashing, is it consider factory unlock version now or carrier unlock? If so, doesn't samsung has a way to track it or doesn't really matter?
I'll give you guys the basics I'm not good at the details. You download the modded version of Odin. You download the XAA firmware for the S24 model you have. You flash the 4 files in the modified Odin. In about 5-10 minutes the phone restarts just like you got a brand new unlocked version from Samsung. Backup anything you don't want to lose because everything was gone when it booted up for me.

Is it a simple process, any direction (maybe a website that has instructions) on how to do it?
It's not simple but it's not that hard but then again I've used Odin in the past before oneplus existed for my note 5.

It doesn't.

Trade in typically looks for any physical damage, blacklisted IMEI, and wrong device. They don't care if your phone is flashed to be unlocked or still on carrier firmware. And they certainly don't care if your phone is locked or unlocked.

Basically this. It's actually pretty simple, but doing it first time does require a bit of researching from finding the correct firmware and using modified Odin.

Anybody with a little bit of patience can do it.

I emailed them and was told the refund would take up to 1-2 billing cycles. We just have to wait I guess...

It seems that my phone went missing in the warehouse after confirmed delivery. The latest CS reply is that supposedly they are going to cut me a check for the full value and promo... What a painful process.

even though you feel like its a painful process, you might have got lucky on this bud. Phones that was assessed past 3/18 still haven't got the credit posted to Spectrum account for refunding. So you getting the check might be a better outcome. Grass isn't always greeener on the other side Big Grin

They received my phone on february 5th and that was the final status update! Thank goodness for the assurant support email somebody posted here as spectrum phone support was completely useless for this issue for me. I think they said from the start it could be up to 2 months before the credit shows up after they assess right? All in all lots of headaches for everyone. I will try to avoid a preorder next time where I have to mail the phone in, too much money on the line and risk involved it seems.

Yeah, the best way for this is to trade it in at store. It's surprising how much they screwed the mail in trade in within such a short period of time.

You guys might have your credits held up but I got a bigger issue with likely Spectrum internal fraud.

I got my assurant assessment approved on 3/16 and credit hit my Spectrum account on 3/17. I requested a refund same day over chat. 3 hours later, I get an email alert saying my autopay method changed, to a new card that I don't recognize and with a zip code half way across the country. I then called up Spectrum to stop the refund from processing into the new payment but was already too late. So they started an investigation. I also changed the security pin on my account. 2 days later, once the refund settled, I get another email alert saying my autopay method changed again, now back to my original payment method, with the new unrecognized payment removed from my acct. All these payment method changes happening without my authorization or consent.

I can only surmise the original rep I spoke with to initiate the refund went rogue after he saw how much money was in the account. It's so easy for any rep to impersonate a customer since they practically have all our security info if they pull up our billing statement. The security pin is right there on the billing statement as well as on the web portal. Now I gotta fight it with them to get the trade in credit back to me. Already initiated a complaint with BBB and will file a police report for grand theft since the credit is over 1k.

If you use a security pin to access your account, i suggest you change it to 2FA where they have to text you a pin every time in order to access the account.

After unlocking the phones, how much will you list them for on the marketplace or somewhere else?

You can do a search see how much people in your area are listed it for. I saw few that listed for $1k on FB.

I had mine unlocked yesterday, at 59 days as well. Unlocked, hung up, and called right back to cancel my mobile account. Plan came together nicely.
Have you received any email confirmation of the line cancelled yet? I was told I should received one but haven't seen it yet. The rep wasn't able to give me the date when the current billing period ends as well. I guess I will have to take her word for it.
