MS Project or MS Visio for $30 each. With tax and handling came to $70 for both for me.

Because… "What a deal!" $30 for $250 software
Some education time:
1. Visio and project are business oriented. Greedy Microsoft won't lower its price significantly there as that's the major profit come from. Don't expect too much from such software. (if it were for personal use, you bet the same software would cost much lower).
2. This deal at Gamespot or similar websites such as Groupon, Livingsocial, Stacksocial deals are "grey market" at best. It will work. If that's what you care only, go ahead; but it is not a legitimate copy, you could cause trouble to yourself and your business when asked about the source.
3. While you do know the selling website is legit, but seller may NOT . Just imagine you could bought fake products from Amazon.com when it is not "Sold by Amazon". You deal with those websites' marketplace seller, not the website itself. (BTW, if Microsoft decides to take some action, guess whether these websites can be immune from the law suits? Considering social media websites need to be hold responsible for the users' post without obvious financial benefit, I guess not particularly when they financially benefits from such transactions)
All in all, know what you are buying and assess if you are willing to take the risk rather than just see the (suspicious) jaw-dropping price.

My work needs ms project so I was excited to see a legitimate copy of MS project that sells only at $30. In contrast, my company annual subscription is over $200/yr (yes, it is subscription only, no one-time payment option).
However, a closer look, as other posts pointed out, shows it is a grey market copy. Essentially it should be some corporation license leaked or obtained in an abnormal way. Let me say you could figure out a way to make it work through Microsoft. I actually obtained one by $15 only (you can google "MS project 2021" on Groupon or stacksocial as other indicates and you will know what I mean), but I won't dare to use it on my company computer. If audited, I don't think showing a online recipe would work. I also don't want my manager asks me how I got a copy without his approval. If it is a legitimate copy, I think I dare to say it but for license from "grey market", I don't. So if you use it for personal use, I think you can buy from even cheaper price from the website I pointed out above. If for business or work use, better convince your manager when he/she is happy
