Worth noting that you are not buying this from Amazon. It's shipping from a third party seller.

I have the Zigbee module in mine connected to Hubitat and I can give these Yale Assure locks two thumbs up. Have a lever version on the front door and deadbolt on the back. Not once has there ever been any sort of hiccup. 100% uptime (except changing batteries) and zero errors in two years. I just wish all smart home products worked this week. If they did we all would be automating our houses.

Huh? There are many hubs that this can work with. Plus I don't know how anybody could trust Eufy ever again after the bs they pulled.

What if the batteries die? Are you locked out for good?
We've been using this at our short-term rental for a couple of years now and really like it.

Battery wise, the app has a battery status for each lock and will start sending messages to your smart device once it gets below a threshold.

If you miss or ignore the messages from the app, the last option is to touch a 9-volt battery to some posts under the key pad which will give you temp power to enter your pin and unlock it. The kicker is how many people have a 9-volt laying around - so, we now keep one in a zip lock in the garage.

Hopefully that helps.

I have these and the batteries die too fast which is annoying. They last roughly 6 months for us. It also malfunctioned a few times in the last 2 years that we've had it. If i could choose again, I'd have went with trying something else.
Maybe you have a faulty unit? Z wave uses very less power.

The touchscreen started to fail for me after 2 years. Recommend the push button ones since the lock is otherwise fantastic

Dunning–Kruger. If there was no second piece of hardware required it wouldn't been a Wi-Fi lock which I don't like. You're the fool who bought not one but three of something you don't know much about and you're laughing at me.

You might enjoy changing the batteries often or slower connection to your hardware. I'll "settle" for Z wave and "suffer" from great connectivity and battery life.
I'm not sure what it was about my initial post that made you so angry or ironically attempt to assert cognitive biases and become combative, but nobody here is looking for you to justify your purchase. If you're happy with it, that's awesome!

It's a great value for $50. Makes no sense for $145 given the lack of features and reliance on a touch-screen. I shared so others can make an informed purchase decision, and others here have echoed many of the same concerns I mentioned. You can enjoy your locks all the same without projecting your insecurities on Slickdeals, but you'll have to look for a fight elsewhere cause I'm not interested. Peace

Anyone have an opinion on the best product in this category any brand? We're in Apple's ecosystem if that makes any difference though use Google home products too.

I have a different experience with Yale Assure Lever Lock (YRL216-ZW2-619 ) . I was never able to connect to my Hubitat. I have tried with 2 different assure locks and did not work. I gave up on it. I was able to connect to Lux Kuno thermostat and multiple other zwave and zigbee devices but not Yale Assure locks.

Picked up 3 of these 2 years ago when Lowe's had them for $50. Requires the August app and you have to buy a hub separately to make it "smart" (ie Alexa integration), which I didn't realize until after I got home and set them up. Kind of annoying since the hubs ended up costing more than the locks.

They were fine locks, but I just replaced them last month with Eufy fingerprint locks that don't require additional costly hardware to integrate with my smart home system. I also grew tired of the touchscreen. It is way more cumbersome than actual buttons or fingerprint scan.

At this price, I wouldn't recommend. I can't even offload these on Facebook marketplace.
But seriously, would love to take them off your hands

That's so weird. If I remember correctly the lever and deadbolt are identical as far as the connection to the hub.
