Yeah, you can get an i7-12700k with 8+4 cores for $200, the 12700k is +50% faster in multicore performance and has the same gaming performance. Cheaper motherboards and can use reuse DDR4 if you want.

7600x for $200 isnt a deal.

The Ryzen 5 5600X is a much better deal at/around the $150 - $160 range.
or a Ryzen 7 5700X 8 core 16 Thread at the $200 range.
IMHO

The main reason to buy this is if you're building a new system now and want some future proofing or CPU upgrade capacity. Sure you can get more cores out of AM4 but its processors are maxed out. This plus AM5 lets you upgrade to a 7950X3D and 2 additional generations.

Granted for the cost you could probably get a 5800X3D and cheaper MB, but then you'd have no upgrade path. Tough choices, but to say the 7600X processor has no home is an over simplification.

I order the 7600 for 195 but it didn't ship yet so I canceled after seeing this thread. I just went to Microcenter right now and it's $189.99. Going to grab it along with a crucial p3 plus 1tb gen 4 for 57.99

(I HAVE NARCOLEPSY, the first line was an attempt to edit the accidental early submit/finish the message.)
This makes so little of ok K min jk o ok Sense I feel like this is an Obvious bait statement.
Few reasons why I completely disagree with your take.
1.Both are Am4 cpus which should be avoided for any brand new midrange/higher end machines as they can only upgrade to the R7-5800X3D or R9-5950 which today are good gaming/productivity CPU's but with the new Am5 chip's looming on the horizon the 1st gen chips and motherboards are already lowering the entry cost to the entire am5 platform that has at least another full release coming up before the chipset is retired.
2- Both the 5600X and 5700X are historically sitting at extremely high off the shelf prices points since 1/1/24. Last R7-5700x i bought new was $177 on 7/7/23, which at the time was its normal price with sales bringing it down to $160/$170 often.
Right now the 5700X is $196 on Amazon which is insane. The 5600X is at least down $20 from yesterday at $145 which is still too much unless you own a decent aftermarket cooler already.
3. If you already are on the am4 platform and just wants to move up from there aging r5-1600/2600 etc The Ryzen 5 5600 is the best choice if they are running a inn no uuuuu
