I would interject and say the frequent recent deals on Stumptown french roast is surprisingly 'medium-ish'. Roasted brown, not black, nor oily, and much more interesting than their regular medium roast lines and the bag I just got from my s&s was roasted in Nov 23. My problem is, if I remember correctly, Intelligentsia was the first brand to start skimpifying with their weights. Coffee used to come in 1 pound bags, then they started charging the same price for 12oz bags, and this bag is now 11 oz. At least the Stumptown is the same price for 12 oz. It's not much, but I'm old and grouchy. And... Intelligentsia used to be one of the cat's meows when it came to microroasters way back in the day. Nothing special for me about their offerings once they went mainstream and on shelves at Target.

Ordered some lavazza gold directly from lavazza. Roast date Jan 2023! Garbage. Looking for a good chocalately espresso roast. Any of these good??

I will probably get roasted (ha!) for posting this on Slickdeals but I like my coffee freshly roasted and I also like to try different coffees. When I bought my espresso machines it came with a Beanz.com subscription. The coffee comes right from dozens of roasters, many of which I love. The roast days is sometimes just days before I receive it and I always get 20% off the regular price and free shipping. I really like this service.
