I wanted a case that protect as well or better than the otterbox, and with a port cover for the usb. I only used Otterbox cases in the past, but the prices are way higher than these brands listed.

The problem with almost every case I've seen is they are designed like the S24u has a curved edge screen when it doesn't. The side edges of the case do not come up and over the frame to the bezel. They seem to stop at the frame or within a fraction of a millimeter of it, and what little raised lip is even on the sides does nothing to protect the side edge of the screen. They're all poorly designed. Like they forgot how to design a case for a flat screen phone. It's abysmal. The Nillkin is slightly better as I can see no metal frame, but is still similar to the others.
If you look at the cases from the side they are all very much raised top and bottom and lower on the sides like a side view of a boat. This came about with curved edge screens. So I was all happy to get a flat screen again, but these case mfg's have failed by not getting away from the design language of curved edge screens. It's sad.
So the Nillkin is my daily driver. Good grip. Not bulky but not minimalist. Cutouts, buttons are solid. Magnet works well in the car. No directional magnet, but it does fine with my wallet. And the camera cutout leaves room to put lens protectors on if I can ever find the ones from my s23U.
Honestly, the main reason I caved to the upgrade was because of the flat screen, and the case mfg's have just let me down. Sad.

I guess I'll just wait a bit longer for a case.
