They all have over the last 3 years in Feb with Samsung EPP. I see some people already got the S90C for like $1880 with a chat asking for 10 percent additionally off. You must have Samsung EPP though.
I 100 percent disagree. You really contradict yourself calling DV Dynamic. You do realize that means brighter when it comes to a TV. I have a C2 and a S90B and I can watch the same movie on Netflix with DV on the C2 and just HDR 10 (Not even HDR 10+) on the Sammy and the Sammy looks better. I'm sure we could talk ourselves into saying it looks better either way as the brain sometimes will make your eyes seem like its better based on what TV you have but I have no skin in the DV vs HDR10. My wife doesn't know what either means and again her choice was the Sammy as it's to dynamic for her. Maybe it was just a better TV then the C2 but probably not.
You misinterpreted what he said/meant.
He wasn't describing DV he was defining it.
DV is a dynamic form of HDR.
DV does not mean brighter with TVs.
DV vs HDR10 is pretty much a moot point with streaming content.

I agree about the mute point. That was basically my point. I understood what he meant but it's crazy that people actually think they would see a difference streaming. Blu Rays I'll have to see if I can see a difference but 90 percent of the people buying OLEDs now will be only streaming 4K HDR content which is already barely 4K due to all the compression.

You can literally see in that chart that HDR10 is static and that DV is dynamic.
My use of dynamic how wide the picture color is but that it's not locked in - hence, my use of varying brightness and tone-mapping.
If you prefer the way the Samsung looks over your C2 w/ hdr10 vs DV, you're comparing literally 2 variables against each other at the same time. Qd-oled vs regular oled - which you might already prefer the Samsung and might completely negate the HDR10 vs DV argument. The S90c is a better Oled compared to the c2 but what if you compared the G3 vs the S90..... then you have a better comparison cause the Oled quality will be similar but now you get DV.
Using yourself and your wife as a comparison on what you think is a better picture is purely subjective.
I already said most ppl won't care about DV and unless you're doing A&B, the majority of people probably won't notice.
At the end of the day, all of these TVs show a beautiful picture and the majority of people will be happy with their content. If you're a snob with colorimeter and watch full remux files and do a&b testing and what not, then you'll care more. I'm in the latter group and still will say that it doesn't really matter and just gives me something to do to add to my own personal knowledge and experience.
Somewhat of a tangent but a comparable experience for people is how they take in their audio. If someone watches their system with an already decent multieq32xt audyssey calibration vs a full calibrated dirac w/ DLBC system and remeasured in REW to further EQ/calibrate, majority of people would have trouble discerning the differences...but if you're deep, you'll appreciate or understand the differences.

I just saw this reply post but replied above.
The experience can be underwhelming when comparing hdr10 vs DV. An easy way to do this on the fly is to get a movie in remux and using an Nvidia shield to easily turn on / off DV. Using a movie like "everything everywhere all at once", when you compare the 2 versions, the colors look more natural in DV but with how the movie is, the slightly more vivid colorway might be preferably better.
Using another example, the majority of ppl use their phone screens in vivid mode vs natural mode because that's what they prefer, yet, natural mode is more accurate. I have plenty of friends that, although they know natural mode is more accurate, the just prefer the vivid/heavily contrasted picture.
Personally, I prefer the natural color for a few reasons. I try to normalize my picture quality as much as possible. (E.g., all my computer monitors are high end and color calibrated) and when I look at content across these different mediums, I want the normalized. As a person who has upgrade-itis a lot, removing as many varying factors as possible makes doing A&B that much better. I'm for sure in the minority of how ppl consume their media and care about just understanding the difference. The key word is "understanding" the difference. There are plenty of times where I prefer the less accurate sound/picture but thats a steep tangent.
I ordered yesterday for the same price with 2 year Samsung care plus protection and free professional mounting service after chatting with an agent. I just told him my friend got the warranty , so can you add it for me. He kept me on hold for a minute and came back saying he was approved to give me the 2 year care plus plan.
I had to go through perks at work to get the EPP to show this price.
When you spoke with an agent and received 2 year Samsung care plus, was that before placing the order?
Unfortunately I placed an order without Samsung care plus a few days before this post and Samsung support said they can't apply it after the order has been placed.
This deal definitely isn't dead. Even though I went to samsung.com with my work perks link, I then logged in with my normal Samsung account (which was not associated with my work email). I then created a new Samsung account with my work email and immediately received all of the discounts and whatnot that people are claiming to get. Slickest deal I've ever had guys. Thanks to the community for saving me some cash.
I got this deal and after 1 week my tv black screened, which after reading online, is a common issue. Samsung is sending a service person to look in one week, but they will not budge on extending the warranty. Good deal, nice tv, would never buy again.

I'm curious why not return vs going through repair? Too much hassle to ship back? Or was Samsung pushing back on the return? I know their customer service is abysmal.
The price of the 55" S95C appears to have gone up a little (showed $1440 for me on two accounts), but I was able to get one with 2-years of Samsung Care+ for $1231 (before tax) after chatting with sales support and applying a referral code. I also was able to use a popular cashback site and, hopefully, will get another $50 (max allowed) back.

I'm going back and forth in my head on returning, but yes, returning is a pain between throwing away the box already and dealing with the wall mount. Many lessons learned from this experience.

How you know it will drop below $2000 shortly?
