Straight up - if you're getting a TV of this size, PLEASE make sure you are positing it right! You're going to need it to be lower than you imagine as the goal is to watch TV in the middle of the screen. I can easily imagine this being mounted too high and it looking crappy.

This should be like a projector. Remember in school the teacher would pull it down and it would be a bit low? That was so you could sit in your chair and easily see it. Don't mount high!!!

Yes it was only made public 2 weeks ago at the CES 2024, came out faster than thought just happened to be on Best Buy site and was like is this real, someone will need to comment on differences between 2023 U8K and 2024 U7, I figure I can cancel if its big, but u8k 100" has been out of stock for a long time and it costs more

That's okay. The Sony x9 0 ran had to head only using 60 local Deming zones these mini LEDs are excellent, but I forget the model that they're always running against the Hisense 8 series. It's a finally reasonably priced Sony that uses only 60 zones but has a better color gamut and runs neck and neck with the series from Hisense

Don't connect the TV to the internet and the Google stuff won't work. Just connect your Roku to one of the HDMI inputs. It's that simple.

So what? Get off your duff and for a moment you can't go into this technology decline where your smartphone is implanted in your head and you're basically going to just get plugged back into the matrix. Good lord people are getting soft

It strikes me as a bit insane to make a so-called budget line that cost $3,000. If you are at the point where you can spend that kind of money on a tv. You probably want the best...
the best in this case just being more production of the U8 instead of wasting time producing a slightly inferior model
Here we go another purest you know let me tell you something that 100-in Hisense for 3 g's would be perfect for a sports bar. Or what have you? 100 inches is a bit excessive just from the handling aspects of it. I've got a 82-in in my bedroom and I tell you oh my god I'll be cast out for saying this. It's side lit and it's only 4k and it only has like an average score on rtings of 7.4. but you know what at night time when you're 12 feet away and an 82 inch sat and you've got good source. This difference between a 7.4 and I think the u7 scores like a 8.2 average. I remember back in the day when the first Jen olez were coming out. They were popping about an average 8.2 knock off the purest stuff. Man you guys a calibrate these TVs all day long and you guys are just searching for perfection and you're never going to find it. It's price per square inch. Go get yourself a 77-in all that and have a kid cracked in the first week. How about them Apples.. LED panels. Go exponential when you get up into the 100-in size. They don't sell nearly as many of them as the 55 and 65. So of course it's going to cost more than $1,200 for a 75 in u8. But when you jump from 75 to 100 I do your homework ething probably weighs 130 lb and good luck hanging that thing and good luck moving it. You better set it and forget it cuz it's either and get it tipped over someone's. Going to get killed literally and with my 82-in I have it on a stand with a cable to the wall cuz if it tips over it's big enough that it'll hit the foot of my bed and shatter my legs like nobody's business or kill my dog. So a lot of people don't do wall mounts and let me tell you good luck wall mounting that 100 in. I've done like one of those installs and I would not do another if you paid me $3,000 because it's just too big when you're getting that big you might as well just go to projectors

The Hisense just dropped to $2,000, so now it may be an easier decision for you.
