OnePlus themselves has told people recycle it or keep it if your sentimental they could care less there's no trade in evaluation whatsoever. They even call it a $100 recycling reward.

After using OP's fast charge for over 3 years on my 8T, I can't imagine caring any less about a feature on a phone than wireless charging.

Pixel 8 has better camera, wireless charging and lighter compare to 12R. It also holds better trade-in value and software support in the future. For me, I will choose Pixel 8. Performance should not be much different on daily activities.

Is that true? We don't actually need to send the phone for the $100 discount? Asking for a friend
I'm turning in a OnePlus 8 for $180. They want the device.

For me personally, wireless charging results in me charging my phone more often without having to do anything but set it down. I don't even have to think about charging my phone almost ever. I just set it down and it charges. Also less wires to deal with and it makes my phone more durable. For instance my last phones charging port became defective and stopped working, but luckily I still had wireless charging. It's nice to have other alternatives to charging just in case one way no longer works. Like you, I was skeptical of it at first, but it's just something you have to experience yourself to really understand.
I have the opposite experience. I had the OnePlus 8T, switched over to a Pixel 7 Pro because I wanted wireless charging so I can set the phone in my car when driving wirelessly, I knew wireless charging is slow so I was ok with this. Except Pixel 7 Pro wired charging sucks and my phone doesn't fit to charge properly wirelessly in my car.

I end up plugging in my Pixel 7 Pro anyway when driving to "charge faster" which is awfully slow compared to OnePlus.

I wish I still had my 8T but I may jump on this deal. Pixel Phone sucked too because I had to update one by one incrementally to have a functional phone. Last time with Google Pixel. I hate this phone as I'm typing on it and just getting angry at myself.

I need to go outside and probably place an order tonight for a 12R.

Is it worth trading in my OP9 for this? The trade in value is $250 where as selling it on the used market is only $140-150.

The battery on my OP9 is pretty bad now, the heat of the SD888 doesn't help that at all. So $220 after trade in + $30 off seems like a good deal for this right? I'm mostly interested in phone/game performance + battery life.

The only thing I'm unsure if is how the estimated delivery is Feb 13th, but it says I have to send in my OP9 by Feb 15th, which doesn't give a lot of time to test the new device.

Friends don't let friends buy OnePlus. you guys are gonna regret it.
Silliest comment of the thread, especially without backing it up with even one reason. How long does the regret take to set in? 8 months into the OP 11 experience here, and I've never liked a phone more, except for maybe the HTC/Google G1 when Android was a revelation.

I won't bother with a mid-range 12R, and will probably skip the 12, since I have zero need to upgrade. But my next phone will likely be the OnePlus 13.

Even the 12R should be an upgrade for you. The new screen, battery, and 8gen2 chip.

Same. In fact I just purchased an OP 11 after having an 8t and am still using my 65 watt charger. I charge my phones from 20% to 80% and it takes like 10 minutes. I wouldn't use wireless charging even if it had it.

FYI: 128GB version uses UFS 3.1 for storage instead of UFS 4.0 in 256GB version
Not a huge deal but you MIGHT see slight slower loading/switching between apps.

Pixel has more bugs than the deep south, poor SoC and bad batt life. Try again.

I'm also considering this route. I'm not sure if the OP12 is worth the premium over the OP12R.

If it's the T-Mobile OnePlus 8... It's the OnePlus 8 5g, which is only $140... Not $180.
