Hmm wouldn't KEF Q350 be better option at $500 when on sale? $800 for these seems high.
This is hardly any kind of blowout/close out sale. These prices are just back to the pre-pandemic/pre-inflation prices. Nothing to write home about.
Which is fine by me because it means my mint condition Ultra bookshelves in gloss white still have good value.
I want these speakers. $800+ tax a pair is just an inch from what I'm willing to spend though. At $800 i have to open the door to looking at a billion more speakers at that price or more. I just bought the prime elevation and waiting for them in the mail.

All the Ultra series lineup is getting closed out because of new, Ultra Evolution series coming soon.
I bought 5 Ultra speakers, including an Ultra Center and 2 Ultra surrounds during Labor Day close out sale.
Also, buy 5 speaker and get an additional 5% off total price. Saved a bunch of $
Super happy with my Ultra Bookshelf I bought a couple years ago as an upgrade from NHT Super Ones. They are fun and have great bass on my large desk for nearfield. Even compared to the Revel M106 and MA Bronze 100 amongst others and preferred the SVS for my use. Be sure to power them with something like a Fosi BT20a Pro or better.
I think when I bought them it was the last time I ever saw them for $300 each from the Outlet, and would absolutely recommend them at $400 each. There are more neutral speakers out there for sure, but all the ones I enjoy more are floor standers.
Coming from Polk Rti8, CS5, Fx speakers: would these be a considerable upgrade? I have an SVS PB1000 and love it. Heard great things about SVS just not much on this series.

Can't say I did some exhaustive comparison between 30 different speakers but I am personally thrilled with the sound of the SVS ultra line for my home theater. Sounds great at any volume, crisp and clear without being piercing. Paid retail for bookshelves + center last summer and then exchanged for ultra towers. The bookshelves are fantastic, I'm just a tower guy.
I have these and like them but I think they are a pretty old design compared to new speakers. I realized this because I'm currently looking for new bookshelf speakers in this msrp price range and there are several nice looking speakers to choose from. I think most would not regret purchasing these at this price. Brighter speakers paired with denon. Supposedly the q acoustics 5020 sounds good and about this price.

They will sound pretty different than those.
You would have to listen to them to see if you prefer/like their sound, it is an acquired one.
Only then would you actually find out if they are a worthy upgrade.
One great thing about SVS is their CS.
You get 45 days to see if you prefer them, if not just return them no cost to you.
If you find you should have gotten towers, you have a year to upgrade.

I returned my Q350 and got these. Very happy I did. Bass is much better.
