The USB-C cable with screws on one end has USB-A on the other end in the pictures. That's what's confusing me, and probably johnec4. There is no USB-C to USB-C cable in the photos (though one is mentioned in the product specs).
It is also USB-C to USB-C. The end with the USB-A is removable to reveal USB-C.

Bought this the last time it was on sale. Having problems with my monitor turning off and on randomly through HDMI (Windows machine). Anybody have any suggestions?
Update windows, update all drivers via your mfr software, and see if this resolves the glitch.

You haven't seen my current setup. LOL

Targus is a much more reputable name than what I'm current using in my janky setup. I've used Targus power bricks, surge protectors, even travel mice, they have a good track record with me.

So I'm upgrading from questionable to cheap. laugh out loud
:-) Yes, in your scenario I'm sure it will be perfect. Targus has been around, no doubt…lots of legacy support.

I bought 3 of these when they were $50 ea. It comes with a power brick and has 2 HDMI, Ethernet, USB c and usb-c charging port to connect to your laptop, and a few other regular ports. At $20 this is a steal because just getting the power adapter separately would cost more than this. And you're getting a good docking station with it.

And for those wondering my Lenovo P14s registers this as 92w input when I plug it in.
The Lenovo is only asking for 93 watts. It's not an issue with this docking stn

Thanks! The removable USB-A adapter was the missing piece to the puzzle.

I read two reviews in question and they were for a different model. Same issue?, who knows.
Not sure why people are using Amazon for review - I just read the ones on HP site directly. They are pretty mixed at best. And they are all for this specific dock…

I have a TB3 dock already that I need to carry around. So this deal seems interesting. What is the difference between a USB C dock and TB3? Can I run dual monitors on it? Anyone use this with a Lenovo ThinkPad?

The bad reviews on the HP site don't have anything to do with power issues though. They're about Mac compatibility and HDCP issues.

Yeah, I dunno what's with that picture - it's the only one & it's pretty crappy. I tried searching the Targus web site for that model number, but only found ones ending in "USZ [targus.com]" & "EUZ," so I'm guessing the "GLZ" on HP's site is a global version that Targus' makes only for other OEMs to sell. If you look at the pictures on the Targus page I linked, you'll see what I'm referring to.

I saw a lot of bad reviews complaining about Mac compatibility. alongside reviews saying it works great on Mac if you use the right drivers.

I don't think you can return it in store if it's shipped and sold by HP. Also Google HP cashback to get 4%.
You can. Click on the link which says 30 day returns.

Got one from Walmart [walmart.com], thx. Had some Walmart cash to spend from past purchases too, so that helped.
