Few things to note about these:

They don't require the laptop have DP alt mode on the USB-C connector, which can be a plus, but this means the displays are using DisplayLink which is an abstraction layer built up on USB, and uses the CPU and GPU to render these displays in software. Which if your system is decently powerful and has a dedicated GPU, isn't really a huge issue, but if it has only CPU integrated graphics, DisplayLink performance can be quire terrible under certain conditions, like doing anything that's tasking the GPU with even something as "simple" as YouTube playback, and gaming is out of the question.

They're generally fine for most office uses, but gaming is not going to be a fun experience and if you have no dedicated GPU, even watching videos can lead to the display becoming a stuttering mess.

DisplayLink is useful, but it's not a replacement for a true display connection, like docks that connect over DisplayPort alt mode. But if your laptop doesn't have DP Alt Mode, this is the only way you're going to get a docking station, so it does have some uses.

If you have WalMart GC to burn, they have it also for $20, the seller being HP

Just a heads up, this is a displaylink dock.

Probably fine for most users and office use. Just be aware it will require additional drivers to output video to an external monitor, and you will not be able to drive dedicated GPU graphics to an external monitor with this dock if that is something you need.

Walmart tends to oversell and cancel orders later. Any such cancellations for walmart yet?
it is third party HP store in Warmart.com, it is beyond what Walmart can do

This product is DOCK182GLZ. But the common one I find reviews for is DOCK182USZ. What's the difference?

Watch out! This fries computers and motherboards. I would avoid anything with their own power delivery as it passes current into your laptop or PC.

1.0 out of 5 stars Targus docking causes power surges strong enough to blow out a laptop

Do not buy this docking station. I've fried 2 laptops trying to figure this problem out. I've had 2 Targus docking stations how of this model (DOCK190). The first blew out one laptop. We thought it was a power surge from outside of the house, so we installed a whole house surge protector, then I bought an industrial sized surge protector. On Zoom calls, the monitors would just turn off as well as my laptop. After a few times, the laptop mother board was fried. There are chat discussions about this occurrence if you google them. The monitors also just turn off when the laptop goes to sleep. Customer Service's responses were 1) just restart your computer every time, or 2) turn your power saver function on your laptop to "Never Sleep", both of which are ridiculous.

Had to have 2 motherboards replaced on two separate computers. Fairly confident this was bricking the power.
That review is from the lady from Throw Momma From The Train? Ok....

GL = global, US = well... guess. There's an EU version, too.

Both reviews you referenced are for a different model than the OP.

You quote both as being "Size: Dual Monitor 4K, 5 Gbps, 100 WattPattern Name: Dock" which equates to the model number in your first review that you commented with,DOCK190. This post is for model DOCK182GLZ, which as 10 Gbps throughput, not the 5 Gbps mentioned in both of your copy pasted reviews...

I got this dock in a previous deal and it comes with multiple cables for use with international outlets including the standard U.S. plug. A nice bonus.

Have you used it? Did you have to install a whole house surge protector and it fried your laptops?

I've used it for a couple of months no issues. Was able to use it on a work laptop as well without having to install any additional drivers (it's possible it was already installed by the company, I didn't check). Also works with my Chromebook.

There are two USB-C ports on the dock. One goes from the dock to the laptop, one is open for other use.
I thought photo only showed one.
