They don't require the laptop have DP alt mode on the USB-C connector, which can be a plus, but this means the displays are using DisplayLink which is an abstraction layer built up on USB, and uses the CPU and GPU to render these displays in software. Which if your system is decently powerful and has a dedicated GPU, isn't really a huge issue, but if it has only CPU integrated graphics, DisplayLink performance can be quire terrible under certain conditions, like doing anything that's tasking the GPU with even something as "simple" as YouTube playback, and gaming is out of the question.
They're generally fine for most office uses, but gaming is not going to be a fun experience and if you have no dedicated GPU, even watching videos can lead to the display becoming a stuttering mess.
DisplayLink is useful, but it's not a replacement for a true display connection, like docks that connect over DisplayPort alt mode. But if your laptop doesn't have DP Alt Mode, this is the only way you're going to get a docking station, so it does have some uses.

Probably fine for most users and office use. Just be aware it will require additional drivers to output video to an external monitor, and you will not be able to drive dedicated GPU graphics to an external monitor with this dock if that is something you need.

Was very surprised to see the 4 different power cords in the box.
Looks like many either missed out or learned the hard way that Walmart 3rd party is notoriously unreliable.
This item was a totally awesome deal. How do I know? We bought about 50 of these, Kensington brand, in August for my enterprise. Each was $220. $20 is a real deal and I bought four. The international cable adapters are easily worth $10 alone as someone pointed out.
Box is very well made and can easily believe it was intended to sell for $200+.

You can get around this by using displaylink software. However many people don't know how to.install it and then complain the box doesn't work. It DOES work, they are just not knowledgeable.
Hdcp is another issue. But TBH these boxes are neither for movie watching or gaming. They are productivity devices.
