If you have a massive room with double height ceilings you are trying to fill sound in with thundering home theatre bliss, you might need pre-outs, which lets you use an additional amplifier to add more power to the system. Louder sound = more power. I can say from personal experience in my 16x30 room with 9 foot ceilings, the 305 is plenty. I don't ever max out the volume.
Also, something I noticed that isn't too big of a deal is that when you set the Dialogue setting to +3 or higher, it reduces the subwoofer level by 30%. Not sure why as it is transferring center channel to the L/R.

I ditched the fire stick and got chrome cast and use the TV's prime video app.

I fixed this by connecting the shield/firestick directly to the TV and then using eARC to get full audio capabilities to the receiver. Fixed everything with no loss in audio quality.
