Amazing deal since it includes Dirac live. I just bought the LX505 off buydig for $699. I tried to return it but they gave me $50 off if I keep it, so I got the 505 for $649 essentially. I think the preouts are worth it. If you are serious about home theatre, you may find down the road you wish you had the preouts to add an amplifier for more power. You can do an adp speaker-level to line-level adapter ($39.99 on crutchfield.com) but then you have all these stupid wires everywhere and it looks ugly. Or you can just spend the extra $150 and have 9 preouts and 120 watts with the LX505.
I am not impressed with the receiver. It is not perfect that is for sure, But for the price it is quite the deal. I love Denon but the next closes thing is the X3800h that does 8k and only has 105 watts (versus 120 watts Pioneer) and you have to pay $229 to get the Dirac Live license.
Best price to get Dirac Live and you have no interest in their Dirac Live Bass Control RC, don't need pre outs,ok with parallel/mono sub outs and global crossovers!
Does anyone have experience using Dirac Live after using Pioneer MCACC? I used MCACC first and it ran all the frequency test, but when i used Dirac Live it only took less than a minute to finish. Wonder if i miss a step or two here.

Funny, I didn't take this as salty at all. Just pointing out facts about the receiver then ppl can make their own choice.

I had the same problem when I initially set it up. I couldn't get DIrac live to show up after I did it (it was grayed out). I had to install the pioneer app and the Dirac live app on my iphone, and then get the lx to show up in my pioneer app. Then I opened the Dirac Live app and went through the process there, which took longer (9 measurements) but then showed up on my pioneer receiver when I changed the settings to Dirac Live option. I am not sure if it was much of an improvement, I used the mic that came with the receiver. I am actually going to buy a professional mic and then do the setup with a laptop, which is what most of the people of youtube did. I set mine up using my iphone and the 2 apps and the factory supplied mic.
Bickering has hi-jacked the thread little information for all the posts. This pioneer has had reviews of slow hdmi switching to the point of no signal on the screen. Global crossovers for my setup is a no no and the talk of onkyo/pioneer together makes me cringe at the remembrance of the old hdmi boards. Pioneer for 1990 but denon/Yamaha build for 2024. 🤷 great price for Dirac if you want it now, but if you must buy separately then I would wait for the new models to come out.
