Scooped up a red sparkle today. As much as I thought I'd be upset about no tremolo, it was also a relief…Nice to not have to deal with a Floyd Rose (yes, I have other Hammett sig and really like them). As much as I wanted a black sparkle, the red looked damn good in person. Plays and sounds great. The first riff I played was Creeping Death! 🤘🏻

At this price, I wouldn't think 2x. Grab one if you're on the fence!

Call brick and mortar GC's. If they have them in stock they will honor price and ship to ya ... That's what the staff told me after driving an hour to pick em up.

So I am guessing GC saw these did not sell bc lack of whammy bar and had too much stock. Once these clear out the resale value will come down to this $700 range bc not many people want a Kirk guitar w/o a whammy. Not sure why people rush out and impulse buy several of something that will drop in resale value real fast. I guess this is for someone who wants a flying V w no whammy and a cheaper LTD.

And of course all the stores around me are out of red sparkle, the one I was interested in. Guess that's it, no guitar for me lol.
I wouldn't take their word for it over the phone.

I was at my local store, and even though the Manager checked her system (online was showing Gold and Red out of stock at the store) and her system also showing out of stock, she found both Gold and Red in back.

My wife "encouraged" me to buy both, and decide later which one I like more laugh out loud

Sounds like someone that doesn't know the market.

This is one of the top end spec model LTD's and been on "sale" via Reverb for $1200-$1500 for used or B-stock.

This will NOT drop under $900 anytime in the next two to three years. Metallica's guitars (and V's in particular) have gone up a stupid amount in the last few years.

Lots of metal players don't use a whammy.

The store discounted it. Mine had a tag on it 899. These were released in early 2023
Is that every store? Not just a local thing where this example came from?

Actually these have not been selling on Reverb well and when they do it was around $1100-1200. When price drops lower after this heavy mark down by Guitar Center then the actual price you net after reverb fees etc will come down to a bit under what you just bought it for. So anyone trying to flip these will waste their time and energy. However anyone who really wanted this guitar, it is a great deal. Overall guitar prices on LTDs over the past year are dropping fast across the market including Kirks LTDs.

during covid the markups in guitars got pretty crazy and they are starting to come down finally in price. but this is a really good price for the guitar. the real question is black or red?

does anyone if the guitar case that comes with it will fit a jackson rr24 too. I will get that crackle sooner or later

Yeah, agree to disagree. I watch guitars all the time. The LTD deluxe models don't go as low as you think. Especially the signature models. JH truckers still command well over $1K used, if they even pop up.

So I decided on the black one and opened it up. No paperwork and actually had a blemish where they missed the sparkle coat and had a dime spot black circle on the front. Went to my local GC to exchange and get a new one shipped as it says available online. He told me it would be a floor model as it showed no more in the warehouse. Guess I need to decide on the red or gold now. Also appears to be back to $1799 in store.

Are these on par with the arrow-1000 in terms of design and quality? It's quite a bit more expensive obviously but is the neck etc the same?

You could always get both the red and gold if you're a niners fan

I'm gonna return the Gold one. After staring at both, I keep coming back to the Red sparkle.

Called my local GC, they don't have any and can't order any for that price. If anyone can get one near the Pittsburgh-Buffalo-Rochester area, I'd come pick it up and give you an extra $100. Or if you want to sell it through Reverb and ship, that would work too.

Called my local gc and they lied and said they didn't have any. Went in store and they had a Metallic gold one on the wall so was able to grab it at the sale price.
