That's like saying "I bought a 4k TV but I just watch it in 1080p because it doesn't work well when using the 4k feature."
The fact these are on Woot a few months after product launch is a good sign...
I have a Pixel 7 and have recently experienced bugs. Fortunately an update seemed to fix them, but the fingerprint reader is the one thing that never works on the phone. It makes me so angry they removed the rear fingerprint reader.

I have 7 Pro from the Mint deal. Basically was free after factoring in the year of wireless service. Just a crap phone. Constantly drops cell signal and you have to toggle airplane mode on and off to get it back. Slow, laggy. GPS very iffy. Buy a Samsung S series or an iPhone.
I got the same Mint P7P deal. Contrary to your experience, I like the phone a lot. The data signal did drop from 5G to EDGE, but only occasionally. Same happened to my Oneplus 7T while on RedPocket. A reboot usually fixes the issue.
Phone is very fast and smooth. 1440p display is gorgeous. Android 14 update fixed the battery drain. Pure stock Android experience is liberating.
Only gripe I have is the curved screen.
While enjoying my P7P, I am patiently waiting for Mint to drop another similar deal on the P8P.

For me the pixel 8 pro, not 8, feels very outdated, the processor is unimpressive. Pixels 8 network connectivity with their Samsung modems, has gotten a little better, but still gives me problems auto connecting to data.

I have had a 7 Pro since it launched in 2022 and I'm happy with it. Battery life has improved with the latest Android version, camera is fantastic (love the 5x zoom), my connectivity is solid on both wifi and cellular. I'm waiting to hear about the Pixel 9 specs and I may switch or wait for the Pixel 10. Three years of ownership is what I usually go for anyway.

I have a Pixel 6a, and I fully planned on getting an 8, but the 6a works so well I just can't think of a reason to upgrade. The battery last me a solid 2 days as long as I don't mindlessly scroll. I may stick to it for a few more years at this point.

Same experience for me. My 6a still works flawlessly after 2+ years, and before that, so did my 3a. Easily the best 2 phones I've ever owned.

How does it feel outdated? Unless you're gaming, the OS is as smooth as anything out there. It takes the best still photos, has the most advanced AI suite, has solid build, speakers and screen. It's right there with the best from the big dogs for significantly cheaper and has won plenty of android of the year awards. Coming from someone that formerly used exclusively Apple and Samsung devices but has tried some of the best Chinese phones too. Typing this on the s24 but the pixel 8 pro will continue to be my daily driver unless I need a smaller, lighter device for more active days

Did the experience get better after subsequent updates ? Just wondering if had a 6a and had quite a bit of issues and as much as i wanted to like it, ended up selling it in 5 weeks. Fingerprint sensor did get a tad better after 2 updates in the 5 week ownership period, so just wondering did following updates fixed other issues ??

I really don't get all the Pixel bashing. I've owned the Pixel 7 pro for about a year and a half. The phone operated flawlessly. Never encountered any of the glitches that people talk about. It maybe acted up 2-3 times during ownership. The people that say the chip isn't strong enough don't know what their talking about. Those benchmark tests don't mean anything. I was able to play COD without any issues. The newer pixels can do the same things oas other flagship phones. Not to mention other flagship phones can't touch the Pixel when it comes to AI and photo editing.

That being said I traded my P7P for the regular S24 because I missed having a smaller phone. The Pixel UI is way smoother and cleaner than Samsung's so far. Samsung is definitely more customizable though which I don't really care about.

I always push the system updates right as I find out about them. I totally agree that them getting rid of the backside fingerprint sensor was a huge mistake, and that almost prevented me from even considering the 6a, but I was reading mixed reviews, so I went for it. After a couple of tries, I found a solid quality tempered glass that has eliminated all issues with the fingerprint sensor on the front. It's by a company called Supershieldz, sold in 3 packs.

Pixel 7 pro is great for the price but split screen really let me down. I don't think it will be any different with the 8 but if you love split screen i would suggest you look into it deeper to make sure you will enjoy this phone

Can anyone explain why this is a good price. I would expect this phone to be nearly half off at this point. Never seen prices so stubbornly high on pixel phones before. I'm assuming it has something to do with the extended software support? Maybe Google is trying to target a slightly higher tier customer

In what tasks do you find the processor to be inadequate?
