Doubtful, we are talking about Apple here. Get a Fire TV if you want Kodi and other side loaded apps. I have had a Fire TV for going on 10 years, cut the cord 5+ years ago, side loaded at least 15 apps.
Correct, unless you have an iphone and want to push something to your tv… like a video you just took… works on some but its hit or miss…. With appletv, it will just work

Many many years ago I tried to insisted twice. The first time I was exempted from a health concern. Second time I tried to sneak in but that only went so far. So I get it when people feel the sense of non-military affiliation. But truth be told nowadays it seems they will take anyone compared to almost 35 years ago when I tried.
If you want to use Kodi, get an Nvidia Shield or Google TV. I was a big Kodi user so I sold both Apple TV's that I had and made the switch. Now that my TV has Google TV built in, I can mainly use an Apple TV and then switch to the built in OS for anything not allowed on Apple TV.
Google TV is easier for Kodi, you can download Kodi right from the app store. The Firestick you have to sideload and can be a pain.

lol. There are many good apps not available from the app store that I can side load to the fire tv. In fact, Kodi is my least used of all my side loaded apps. I have Google TV on my TCL TV and never use it. I have the Fire TV hooked up to the TCL and like its speed and interface and layout much better than Google TV.
