85" Hisense A7
Don't expect OLED, 120hz, bazillion nits for $700 and 85"
Mediocre reviews but Hisense is generally a good value for what you are paying.
What do you folks think? Is this Samsung worth the extra $100? https://slickdeals.net/f/17246368-85-samsung-class-tu690t-series-led-4k-uhd-smart-tizen-tv-800-free-shipping

Seems like a decent deal for an 85". Wish there was a Rtings score for it.

This A76H was a late entry in Hisense's 2022 line-up. The specs are virtually identical to the 2023 A6/A65K series, with the exception of this A76H having a tad more brightness. I would expect them to perform similarly.

I'd spend 100 more on the Samsung.

Looks like spec between the Hisense and Samsung are pretty similar.

A few minor differences I noticed:
Both have true refresh rate of 60Hz, but Samsung has "motion enhancement".
From other people's quotes; Hisense 400 nits, Samsung 300 nits.
Hisense 4 hdmi inputs, Samsung 2 hdmi inputs
Hisense is Google TV, Samsung is Tizen

The only thing that made a little difference to me is that the Hisense is 400 nits versus Samsungs 300 nits. So I saved the $100 and went with the Hisense.

Assuming this is approximately equivalent to the A65K, it would get a Rtings score of 7.2 vs the Samsung's 6.8.

How are the generic center mount stands? These never fit my entertainment center , I've seen stands that use the VESA mounting holes but it's a stand for a flat surface, not the wall.

In 1998 my dad bought an 80in TV for $6,000. It probably weighed 300 pounds. A few years later or so bought a "converter box" for HD 720 or 1080 can't remember for about $1000 or so. So this is a good deal.

I bought this TV back when Sam's club had it for $ 590 I believe.

I have been happy with it. No issues so far.

Telling you guys and this has been multiple trends I have posted this, but all these HiSense A/R whatever cheap series don't last. My buddy and I had backlight or LED strip failure on our R6s under 4 years. I think my buddy had an R7 as well that like 2 HDMI ports failed but still kicking.

I know Hisense gives you their own warranty, but reviews state it sucks. I would spend the more on a Samsung to be honest.
