But be warned, at my locale, it requires installation by an approved contractor from a list supplied by my Water company. So it may with you too.

Thanks. I almost went this route. It's pretty expensive. I'll wait till the tech mature more and unit gets cheaper

They use the same circuit size as a standard electric water heater, although use less power while running. Plumbing connections may be on sides so slightly more complicated. They do require a drain or pump for condensate removal, perhaps that's where the addtl cost comes in
Rebate.
But be warned, at my locale, it requires installation by an approved contractor from a list supplied by my Water company. So it may with you too.
An approved contractor is not required for the federal tax credit, but is often required for state/power co rebates.
