YMMV this deal is hackable in store (I tested it earlier today). Others have had success with hack also.

Hack is buying the bare tool, receiving the "free" batteries, returning the unwanted item for about half off. Similar to the well known Home Depot hack. Lowe's has had there hackable deals disabled for over a year and this is first deal where it seems to work again.

They need to include the 7 1/4" circular saw instead of the 6 1/2".

on your receipt, was the total price split between the battery kit and tool (example: $100 for tool and $100 for battery) ? or did the battery ring up as $0 while the entire cost was on the tool?

this matters because if it's the latter, then the cashier did an override and split the cost themselves then refunded. they are NOT supposed to do that, most cashiers will not do it and in some cases won't even know how to do it

however, if it's the former, then everyone should be able to replicate.

What did your receipt show. Price split in half. You buy online or in person?
bought in person, was not a 50/50 split. its $250 for the whole thing, 134 for the impact so like 116 for the batteries

If anybody has bought this deal with the DCF510B ratchet, please share the itemized price breakdown, if any. Thanks.

The 1.7ah are incredible for tools that don't draw a ton of power. For a 1/4" impact, a light, light duty drilling, etc. they are easily worth $50 each, and you are getting them for a lot less than that with this deal.

The 5ah are also pretty incredible, but roughly twice the price of the regular ones, They are certainly better built and attach/loosen from the tools much easier than the standard batteries. I like the shape of them much better than the standard as well. They are supposed to take roughly twice the number of charges, but I am not sure I buy that. Only time will tell.

I came here to ask about this, it seems my intuition was correct.

Has anyone had issues with these batteries? I have. I have to almost "turn them on" with a few trigger pulls of my brand new impact driver before they'll do anything, then have to repeat every few minutes if they haven't been used repeatedly. Had 4 do this, returned them for new ones. All 4 replacements do the same. They do it on other tools but it's most noticable on DeWalt's newest xr impact driver.

So $116 for the two batteries if I return the tool?

edit: Just checked Amazon. 1.7Ahs are $55. 5aHs for $99. Seems like a deal if you want the tool and batteries or just the tool. No deal if you want the batteries.

I'm in it for the tools. These batteries are tiny and can see why they suck.

Mine is 144 for the dcf891 and 106 for the batteries. Still pretty slick deal for that dcf891.

So Lowes receipt would show no split in tool and battery so really its up to the return customer service rep to allow split return or not?

Ordered online.

Didn't get an official receipt until after pickup, and it was emailed. Receipt shows full price for tool, $0 for batteries. Will attempt return, as reviews on these batteries are NOT good. Probably end up just returning both the screw gun and the batteries.

Worthwhile if it's a 50% hack, definitely if they give you full value for the batteries and the screw gun is free, but the batteries aren't worth it for me.

I Tried to return the battery at the store without the tool. Customer service said the computer won't let her since it came as kit both tools and battery should be returned together.

let us know the results, it seems like YMMV depending on the customer service worker
