Hisense has a high than normal number of failures.
Same price at Costco as item number 9075700 with 5 year All State protection.
I had one entry level Samsung die after a year and a half. I have 2 that have lasted (still going knock on wood) for years! I think once you get to this level you're fine as the components are generally better quality.

Not a bad price, but you're better off getting the Hisense U7 for $100 less and an 8.2 overall score from rtings
What about for reliability? I've had my current samsung 55in 120hz for almost 6 years now no problems. I am looking at Hisense. I will be moving into my own place in a few months and Im wondering if these are really good discount prices

Reliability is all over the place with TVs. If you google Samsung reliability, you'll get mixed results from owners, just like with Hisense or any other brand. I haven't owned a Hisense, but they've jumped a lot in popularity. Another brand to consider is TCL. I own 3 TCL TVs and they've been great. Check out the Q7 from TCL. Cheaper than this TV and rated higher for picture quality

Upgraded from like a 7+year set to Samsung. Loving it. Was hard trying to find a good big tv with the stand in the middle (rather than two wide legs) so I can reuse my current stand.
Liked the tv so much but their 85 inch a few months later.

Yeah my u8g crapped out at the 2 year mark it is likely the LEDs so one of the most annoying things to fix 🙄. Great TV but didn't make it long enough to convince me to buy another one so I got an lg c3
How is this compared to the LG C3? Thats the TV I've been eyeing from these alerts the past few days until I just saw this. I'm sure this is probably a rhetorical question but I'm not that knowledgeable when it comes to TVs

I've had a hisence in my bedroom for a solid five years now with zero issues I recently bought the U7 and it's a pretty dang good TV for the money, and also has one of the best warranties without having to add extended.

Agreed.
Can't put a finger on a single best brand these days.
Extended warranty through Credit Cards is a must with TV purchase.
In mine + brothers home, we have:
Hisense 55" LED for 5+ yrs, going strong. Good picture quality IMHO
Sony 75" LED 7+ yrs old - works but hate it
Android TV has been slow as hell for yrs. Have to use Fire stick :/
Samsung: 43" Plasma, 51" Plasma, 65" LED - All running well
Given my experience with Samsung and Hisense, I'd go with Samsung. I have 2 Hisenses in the basement, 1 Roku 1 Android. The Android one on occasion doesn't turn on or freezes. To fix it, I have to stick my hand behind TV and pull the plug. Never had that with my Samsungs. Samsung may have other issues here and there, but with 5+ Samsungs over the years, they're pretty good.
For reference, the Hisense I'm talking about is 75U6G.
