The cord is restricting and gets in the way. This is much easier to store, is lighter than a full sized router, your work doesn't need to be near an outlet, and it's generally ready to work faster than corded. My corded router is set up in my router table.

lol…. I use it for the same reason. This thing makes quick work of most tasks, and light to boot. The jigsaw on the other hand…sucks
