They should just make this the permanent price. Nobody is paying 600 for this underpowered device!

It does make sense to get this one where all you need is a handheld PC for emulation, some web browsing and emailing. Also works well for cloud gaming.

If so, $300 is too much.

The Z1 Extreme is nice, but this plays most games too.

Turn on RSR, set the game to 720P, and pretty much most games will run at Mid 30s to low 50s. Radeon Boost can add a few frames too and then RFMF will bring this to a solid 60 FPS.

Oh and if you mostly play at home and have a gaming PC, then you have the opportunity to install some free software use a home cloud gaming setup that's dang near flawless and the game will look better than anything the Extreme version could run natively. Then you get some decent gaming on the go and high end at home.

Also, this thing didn't run as hot as the extreme, and had no real issues with the SD Card.

Z1 is a really powerful CPU. Find a laptop or even computer at this price range that can compete?

You are not wrong, but if you are someone who is planning on having the unit hooked up to the XG Mobile most of the time, this could be an option to save a few hundred dollars. If you are planning on being mobile most of the time and have it as a stand alone, then you are completely right.

Got the Z1 extreme open box for 299, I think they miss marked the box, so lucky me, absolutely love it, very fast, beautiful screen, most games are very smooth, windows 11 so I can check email, surf, watch movie and do office, the only problem I have is PS Remote Play doesnt work with controls which really sucks, have to hook up another controller, but why?

Whether this is true or not, this is what most people believe, so resale prospects for these will be (are) poor. And strangely, the Extreme version has better battery life.
