Edit: The companion pass is worth it if you plan to travel at least twice with a companion. The extra 45k points I got are worth ~$550.

The regular everyday promo for CP is 135k points, which usually can get had with 1 Personal Card and 1 Business Card. That one gets you remainder of current year and all of next.
