i disagree with the above posters who think this isn't a good sign up bonus. this comes with a companion pass for a little over 12 months. so it all depends on how you'll use this.

Thirty thousand points for spending $4k is terrible. I got 75k points just two months ago. Anything less than 50k is not worth it and even that is on the low side. Wait if you can.

Edit: The companion pass is worth it if you plan to travel at least twice with a companion. The extra 45k points I got are worth ~$550.

This used to be my favorite airline by a lot. But over the last few years they jacked it up *so badly* that I won't consider flying it anymore. The delays (sometimes of days), cancellations, and outright lies about the reasons for them were appalling.

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm looking to book a trip for my family of four to Mexico in June and during checkout, it shows a $200 credit plus 10K points if I sign up for the Rapid Rewards Plus card. If I do this when purchasing flights, do I get the $200 credit, 10K points, the companion pass and the 30K points in this promotion?

No, the promotions are different. For the companion pass you have to specifically sign up for a new card using that promotional link. Once receiving the new card you can use it to book something under a different promotion. But they are not tied together.

My card got lost in the mail and still never received it after 1 months. I recommend contacting Chase and tell them to Rush ship your card. They will send it UPS Overnight Air with tracking.

The Priority is the one to get if you actually plan to fly Southwest with any frequency. And if you are going for the Companion Pass, it's safe to assume that you do.

I'm not sure but what you should do. Have you and your wife both sign up. Both get the companion pass then fly your other 2 family members for free.

However, you sign up first. Once you get the card, refer your wife to sign up. This way, you get a referral bonus too.

it took almost 1 week to get the physical card, it was fairly quick.. The card showed up in my chase account instantly so i was able to add it to my iphone wallet a few minutes after the approval so i could use it as a Tap to pay type feature but just didn't know the actual full card #.

To move the balances when i called it took me maybe 5 minutes it was surprisingly quick.

i have the 2nd tier one, but looking back i should have got the premier or the 3rd tier one so i could utilize the 75$ credit since i know i'll be flying to mexico and could use the wifi/food stuff for the kids.but o well live and learn.
