Got for $200. Extremely comfy in the hands and can stream games from my PS5 for hours with no fatigue. The chip inside leaves much to be desired, so if you plan to emulate GCN or PS2 you won't have a fun time.
Because the devices (were not designed) to serve the same purpose.
Basically comparing a hammer and a screwdriver. Yes, you can force overlap but each has their own niche.
If you put any version of the steam deck beside the G Cloud with the same price tag you would be an absolute idiot to go with the g cloud. There's literally nothing that it can do that the SE can't do.
I got this from the last deal for 200. It is currently my favorite device for emulation (nes annd snes) and streaming.
This has much better aspect ratio than most phones, I tried to use external/detachable controller with my phones before but it's very inconvenient each time and the poor aspect ratio from the phones making everything much smaller.
Comparing to steam deck, Logitech gcloud has much better screen than LCD steam deck, oled deck is double in price, and overall much bulkier. If you only play light emulation and do streaming, this is a great device. If you want to do more, play PC games on the fo then save more money and go for the oled steam deck.

Of course steam deck is better buy at same price tag, but they are not.

I'm talking in reality not pointless hypotheticals. That's like saying for the price you'd be silly buy a Honda for the same price as a BMW. (heck then not even mentioning one was a motorcycle so the comparison was nonsensical to begin with)

If you want to get absurd the Cloud can also 'do all the same things' too, just not as well. Nor is anyone (but you) pretending it should.
Just like the Steam Deck can remote play services like GeForce Now or Xbox Game Pass....it just does it really poorly and requires lots of 3rd party apps that kinda work. (ask me how I know)The Cloud does so natively and 5000% better. That's the purpose.
A hammer and screwdriver have some overlap of use but are NOT the same. "You would be an absolute idiot" to think that wasn't the case. I'm not going to wait for the hammer to drop in price by 50% because I have a screw that needs turning today.
And I never said the Steam Deck was bad or not a better buy. JUST NOT THE SAME DEVICE OR PURPOSE.
I'm on my second Steam Deck, currently have a OLED 512GB. Bought it within minutes of being released. Heck, I had the OG Steam Deck preordered for over a year as well. Biggest Steam Deck fan on the planet. I just don't pretend it can also make a good ham sandwich.

Imagine the best argument the person can come up with is a hypothetical that will never occur.

I got this for $180 during the $200 deal. I mostly use it for PS5 streaming. Works great for that. Also put some emulators on it but it's gotten me to play my PS5 much more frequently than I ever did before. It's super super light, which is a plus, and comfortable in the hands. Screen is great too. Highly recommended
At $200 would this be the best option for retro emulation?
Can only play up to some ps2 games. It feels more premium than other Chinese devices around 200 dollars. If you want more power I would recommmend Odin 2, but the screen on Odin is smaller at 6" so it's less ideal for AAA streaming.
I pre-ordered this before but I quickly returned it after finding out it's best for streaming games.
I then bought a used almost new condition from offerup for 175. I just couldn't justify the original price given what it can't do before.
It's a great android tablet! and I had been playing mobile games on it but I would love to install retro games on it so me and my kids could play on it. Any ideal links/emulators for this?
I think anyone with a paid membership would get one.
I'm on the cheapest paid plan (not Ultimate) and I got the email and logging in I do get the offer to redeem it. Double check.
EDIT: Thought about getting it but.... Techradar review though isn't great on this device, can get a Nintendo Switch for $250, whereas this needs an internet connection to play anything...
This does not need an Internet connection for everything only for game streaming (XCloud, GeForce Now, etc.), just like any device would. You can play Android games from the Play Store (or side loaded) and run emulators offline without issue.
Some games that I have that run great are:
Oceanhorn
Streets of Rage 4
Dead Cells
Castlevania Symphony of the Night
Limbo
This War of Mine
Max Payne
NBA Jam
Oddmar
GTA 3, VC and SA

This can emulate ps2 and older with ease. These are amazing devices and have incredible battery life compared to a steam deck. Not to mention cheaper and a beautiful 1080p screen. I got mine for $180 and couldn't be happier
