It's 1800R curvature for those wondering.
You'd want curved for a 34"ultrawide. I used to use a flat 29" ultrawide, which was fine. I've used both flat and curved 34" ultrawides, and curved is the way to go.
Best price so far, I believe. Front page deal was 799.99 seven months ago. Thanks for posting!
664 is tempting. 1 year warranty worries me.

It's worth noting that, unlike some competitors, Samsung's 1-year warranty doesn't cover burn-in in North America, though this may vary from region to region.

Check this monitor in person. It is Oled, but looks like low end led in person. Also very pixelated.
what does very "pixelated mean"? like you can see sub-pixels? i believe this has the same ppi as 1440p 27 inch monitors (~110ppi)

I own this monitor and it doesn't look pixelated. Some people have reported visible fringing on black text over white backgrounds, but as someone who also owns a 5K Apple Studio display, it's not perceptible on my unit. Honestly, this is only better than the Alienware 34" Ultrawide OLEDS if you're very concerned with aesthetics. This monitor just looks way more premium.

I had this monitor and loved it, but it had a persistent issue where it wouldn't wake from sleep. The computer would wake, but the monitor wouldn't. The only way to get it back was to either reboot my display driver (there is a hotkey combo that I found online in a thread about this monitor) or completely restart my computer. It seems to only happen on DisplayPort. This was back in November of last year, so it's possible it has been fixed via an update.

I switched it for a Samsung Odyssey G9 when that had the EDU sale and have had no problems with that monitor.

Not true. There's also 2 G8 panels. One Oled one that is 4k non oled.

This monitor uses the same panel as the Alienware and MSI models. (SOURCE: https://youtu.be/aMa5mo-v_Aw?si=mJ8uHo8e6MvDkkUt ). This deal is extraordinarily good right now. I bought this monitor when it was $799. Things to keep in mind is that Samsung does NOT offer a stated warranty against burn in AND the fact that it uses micro HDMI and mini display port making it a bit of a hassle because you have to buy those cables if you don't own them. Samsung also has better TV features if you care about that stuff.

$664 for me in the cart. This vs. the Alienware 34"?
In my mind, it's this vs the Philips: usb-c docking, kvm switch, 4 years advanced replacement.

PHILIPS Evnia 34M2C8600 - $777 Amazon

The KVM, higher USB C PD, and displaying two inputs at once is well worth the extra $100. The KVM alone is probably worth $100.

You mean at Best Buy? The employees don't even set high refresh on displays half the time.

Agreed. I do like the look of the Samsung better though.

Owned this, and the AlienWare alternative for a bit.

Couldn't get over the terrible text rendering due to the sub-pixel layout.

There are a few font tweak apps that make it a bit better, but if your life revolves around text viewing I'd wait for 4K OLED displays.

I'd also recommend the Dell AW alternative simply due to warranty.

Never owned an expensive monitor. What would be the benefit over a $200 monitor other than nice OLED panel? Use case - No gaming but mostly video editing.
a ~$200 monitor would likely be something like a lower end 1440p VA or IPS panel. You might be able to find one in that price range with 144hz refresh rate, but more likely it would be lower.

This monitor, in comparison, has a very fast refresh rate. Much much much better contrast ratio (OLED has true blacks, so the contrast ratio is nearly infinite). EXTREMELY clear motion (moving images on cheaper panels will blur and "ghost"). Very very bright (1000 nits peak brightness vs ~400). The colors will be super vivid AND accurate.

To be honest, I don't know if OLED is what you want for video editing. It might be TOO vivid, and TOO bright. For media consumption though, it's brilliant.
