I had a yoga (c940) for 2 years and it was an absolute gem of a device. No hinge problem in those 2 years whatsoever.

What's up with hinges on new laptops? Dell posts are filled with hinges breaking off their supports, even for regular (non 2-in-1) models. But it seems Dell is not the only one.

Laptops are being made cheaper and cheaper. Mostly thin plastic on the screen. My wife's 3 year old 17 inch HP laptop had a hinge failure causing the screen to crack.

I had a hinge failure on a similar model. It was covered by warranty, and now both hinges are failing. Frustrating.
