Uhh have you ever been on an airplane? WiFi is extremely limited so you need to watch your streaming service shows/movies that are downloaded to your device for offline viewing. With 64 GB and the Operating System taking up more and more of that space with updates, you soon become VERY limited with the amount of video you can store on the device itself.

I totally agree about 64 GB being small, but a solution (not ideal) is USB storage expansion. It's not the best but should offer some flexibility.

I'd wait a bit. According to MacRumors, Apple is about to release the new Air series soon (with the last release being 716 days ago, compared to their average release cycle of 610 days). There's a good chance you could find an even better price after launch. For those considering this versus the cheapest iPad: This model has a laminated screen that reduces reflections. If you travel frequently, the Air is definitely the better option as reflections can be annoying. I have the cheapest iPad and I can only use it at home, cause reflections drive me nuts. By the way, if you think you gonna save some money by getting the cheapest iPad and repairing it by yourself in case the non-laminated glass breaks, trust me. I did replace glass once, never again. There is a reason Apple is not fixing most of the iPads in the US. They just give you a refurb if you have an Apple Care.

We all have different use cases. I personally find I don't use as much storage as I do on my phones since I am less reliant on dedicated apps. So for a 128GB iPhone user, a 64GB iPad might be more than enough and cheaper. And if not you can always get the 256GB version. It was an overkill for me but I can think of plenty of applications where that would come in handy. We have options. It's a good thing.

False. I have a tab s7+ and find the productivity apps sucky on android vs my iPad. no pro version of photoshop or davinci resolve for video and photo editing but have those on ipadOS

I just use the s7+ for watching movies now with that nice OLED screen

False? s7+.. I had and s8+ and currently s9+... What are you talking about false? I go to my surfacebook or mac mini for davinci or photoshop... What kind of work do you do? I have working the IT field for almost 20 years. IPADS have NEVER been a good tool for a person who develops or administers. You are talking about some creativity where the ipad has software actually designed for it and where android was an after thought.

The CORE OS and PRODUCTIVITY of an ipad is no where close to what android can do. These are all facts. You bring up old hardware and specifics...

But guess what... I can now use luma fusion on my s9... And who really using photoshop on the ipad, like for real? The ipad cannot dock well and is nothing more than a companion device. My productivity is Slower on a mac or ipad and those are just the FACTs for ME. Does not mean it does not work, but I use the right tools for the job and the ipad for me currenly has only one place... that is in the cockpit of an airplane... and I am trying my best to find a decent android tablel that keep that from being the case.
