Which means that it does have a finite life, and can't be replaced.
Whether that's a factor in practical usage depends on what the chip is rated for, and how much recording is done.
With Ring jacking up their price for users on the lowest plan, I've started looking into alternatives.
They all seem to have small compromises in some fashion, and what I dislike about the Eufy is that it isn't compatible with existing built-in chimes. I don't want to rely on a plug-in.
Also takes a leap of faith to buy from a company that obfuscated, and resisted acknowledging their privacy lapses, before finally coming clean [theverge.com].

Eufy ring cams do not last, the software is slow by the time you connect to the camera to talk to someone at your door the person is gone and the nightvision is awful.
Well, hate to burst your bubble but I have a wired EUFY 2k doorbell, put new wires and a transformer in as my home was built in 2003 and had no existing doorbell setup and it works as it should. I have spoken to many people through it. I have Eufy other cameras as well, including a flood light camera in my front and back yard, solar cams on the sides of my house, a 2nd wired doorbell cam on my garage side door, and over all, I am happy.
If you were/are having slow response times it could be your home network, it could be the wifi that you were on at the time, or could be low cell signal if you were out and about or your area could just be bad for whatever provider you're using. You could have had a faulty unit....
......but to lump all products in together into the 'bad barrel' just because you had a bad experience isn't fair.
It really sounds like you're jealous for some reason that a deal you posted isn't making your an overnight superstar.... I will never understand the need that some people have to receive internet cool points from people you don't even know and probably never will
