If you don't know, this is a 3rd party ticket resale platform. Most of the tickets are marked up to scalper prices and they also charge huge fees. This discount is basically waving the fees.

honest question: how do you buy tickets more directly for the lower price . . . .for me whether I buy tickets the moment they open for sale or a few weeks later, all the prices on ticketmaster/seatgeeks/etc seem to be about the same--when I go to the venue website to buy tickets they often redirect to one of these same vendors . . . if anything, for me, seat geek is slightly cheaper although all of them have crazy fees/etc . . .

basically by the time you go to buy the tickets, they are sold out, all of the tickets you are seeing for sale are from the scalper market
AXS and Ticketmaster now both allow scalping on their platform, so they are in direct competition with Seat Geek / Stub Hub
Seat Geek being the underdog of them all is going to be competitive with their fees, and scalpers are also less likely to use the platform as it doesn't yield them the highest profits the way the big websites do. This means overall lower prices on the lesser known sites.
You would be shocked how many people do not even realize these tickets are sold at a single point location. My girlfriends friend bought some tickets to a Lainey Wilson concert and just basically bought tickets off the top google search, having no clue she was buying them off some 3rd party scalper website.
It's just about as confusing as the stock market because there's that much money in it now.
If there's an artist or comedian you want to see. Sign up for their social and emailing list NOW. That way when their tours get announced, you will be able to sign up for the pre sale and bypass all the third party nonsense.
