Eneloop Pro's are rated at 500 recharge cycles whereas Eneloop White are rated at 2,100 recharge cycles. That is the basis of my comment.
Charge cycles.
The price point for me on "regular" white Eneloops was if I could get them below $2 each, it was an outstanding Frontpage worthy deal.

This deal, with a $8 (my value) charger - comes out at $2.25 each for higher capacity batteries with much shorter lifespans.

Does anyone else have similar math when figuring out Eneloop deals?

The Pro versions have shorter lifespans?

Sound logic. Though if using for remote controls or game controllers, should still be good for close 10 years if charged once a week.

Of course, based on time/frequency I have to put into playing video games these days.

Costco Kirkland AA are good but .30 each. 8 charges (less cost to charge them) and you've paid the same. I say decent deal.

Seems like a pretty good deal as long as the charger is halfway decent

My kids have used Eneloop white batteries in their game controllers for years - so much so, I got them their own set of Eneloop white batteries; to switch out themselves along with a charger that allows them to be responsible for managing their own battery needs/usage. (Keeps them from taking household Eneloops)

I'm not sure how much better the "Pro's" are required for a game controller use (I am aware that any gain in speed is everything with gaming - but does it apply in a game controller). Camera's and flash type devices...I'm sure that extra boost in the Eneloop black power is important and needed over white.
