I've used this Krups everyday for almost 5 years and have never cleaned it nor had a clog. Loud as hell for sure but very reliable.
Def a good deal for a name brand burr grinder, but the Cuisinart DBM-8P1 was a Consumer Report Best Buy as I recall. I have the Cuisinart, so I can vouch for it (very reliable, does not clog, large capacity hopper and grind container - but loud af). That said, it's currently selling for over $50, so this Krups at less than $32 is pretty hard to beat, price wise.
I have one and have had it for years.
Good deal to buy another for a backup!

After tossing an OXO in the bin due to its constant clogging attributable to a sideways chute I would say forget this. It will constantly clog and require cleaning. That will be almost impossible to do. I purchased a KitchenAid grinder. Although far more expensive, it is fast, extremely quiet, and has a straight hole from the bean hopper to the receptacle, which will not clog and can be easily cleaned from above.
There could be a lot of critic on coffee grinder below $70 but years of usage never once ever clog. It may not consistency on super fine grinding but fit our hand pour/french press need.
Maybe we don't like dark roast and make its life longer.
Thank you. Just purchased 1/31 at $55 but will return and repurchase as Amazon has never done the less costly action of just making the requested adjustment.

Mine has been extremely quiet over the first 2 weeks of usage
Hey, I know my question may sound stupid, but I don't know much about coffee.
My question is, If i buy beans and crush them using this grinder do i need anything else to now make a cup of coffee? Or I can just put in a cup like instant coffee and pour hot water and make my coffee.
But if thats the case then what the more expensive machines for? and filters for.
But if you need to filter it then why?
How much can this grind at a time without having to pause and let it cool? I bought a highly rated grinder from Amazon last year but it will only grind about 3/4 cup (on a drip-consistency setting) before it has to rest for 15-20 minutes to cool. I like to grind about half a bag at once, and it takes forever having to pause for these cooling breaks.
*Edit*
I ordered this yesterday and received today. I was able to grind basically an entire large size bag (from Costco) without having to take a break for it to cool. It filled the bin almost entirely (12 cups worth) 4 times. It grinds it very quickly compared to the Shardor I previously purchased from Amazon.

the Krups or Cuisinart? I can tell you the Cuisinart burr grinder we have, even the neighbors can hear it grinding away at 6 am. You must have something different if you categorize it as "extremely quiet."

The Krups (mine), I even read your post twice thinking I was parsing it correctly. Sorry

No problem... I was like, he couldn't possibly be talking about the Cuisinart as the only people that would think that thing is quiet communicate using sign language. That would be a definite advantage to the Krupps if it's that quiet... esp since you tend to use these things at very early morning hours, the loud noise is even more irritating at 6 am.

thank you. I see what happened now.. someone else commented about noise on the Krups and I control f'd to your comment without reading further. Both your post and theirs are featured posts and yours is listed first 🤦
It dose the job. Taste wilk be different but if you like French press you should be fine
its not a matter of taste now. on a budget but have been wanting to use beans instead of instant coffee. Since this is on sale and seems like a decent deal was wondering what else is involved besides beans and this.

It is a very good deal. You can't compare instant coffee wit beans at all. Frensh press price is almost same price as drip machine if not more.
