My store had all their Feit Electric boxes on sale. All were under $1 including 2 and 3 gang boxes. The price and inventory was correct online for my store. They were up high above the other brands. The store I found them at was Northglenn CO, but it looks like many other stores have them on sale too.

You have that backwards.
Excellent deal, but for those like me without a Depot nearby, and hate tabs, Southwire makes a really nice old work box. Screws into studs from the outside, and solid build quality. I have several of these in my house and would recommend for those wanting to throw more money at quality. Several options, like 2-gang, and fan boxes rated to hold 50 lbs.

You could, but you can also get low voltage boxes that have just blank space and attach plates for low voltage wires (you can get ones with hdmi ports or just the bristle kind that wires pass through). These boxes add an extra step of punching out sections to pass the wires through.

Unless you are doing power cables - then you need this type.
And by power cables, this means non-metallic (e.g. Romex) or other approved in-wall high voltage wires. Don't run power cords in the wall, ever.

Difference between old work and new work boxes??

Old work has two screws that pull a plastic tab up against a piece of drywall you cut a rectangular hole in. New work is when drywall is not put up yet and you have a stud you can nail into. Always prefer new work if you can do it but old work is good when adding an outlet and you don't want to tear out drywall

Hope orders don't get canceled. I go through a lot of these boxes.

There are lots of products which are basically in wall power cords. Typically used to hide electronic wiring. I prefer just branching off and putting in a old work box with a good receptacle. A lot of DIY are not comfortable with single phase wiring.
