not sure you're serious but even reading only the numbers:
14" screen vs 15" (and thus numerical pad)
16 vs 32GB RAM
256gb vs 1TB SSD
and that one's a refurb...

For the price this deal might be a steal with that processor and RAM. The 250 nits screen is the only major underwhelming feature.

Maybe for some people. I've got a laptop with a 250 nit screen in front of me right now and I have the brightness set to 10%. If you don't plan to use it outdoors or with a window facing the screen, more brightness may not be necessary.

Would the dim screen be a non issue indoors?
If it's glossy and there's lots of windows it's going to suck.

Edit: I can't find anything definitive for this model but based on some other reviews it seems that the MSI creator series might usually be glossy ( reviews specifically mention the screen is hard to see in a well-lit room ) but the Modern series might usually be matte.

Anything about this deal better than the Elitebook 845 on sale at micro center? That is $300 + $20 shipping, specs are very similar. The MSI has intel 13th gen but Ryzen 5650 is pretty darn good. And the Elitebook is 250 nit screen but has anti glare at least. RAM cheap + upgradable on Elitebook….

And really kinda kills it, even at this price point.

How will this perform for a child playing Fortnite compared to the Vivobook AMD Ryzen 7 5800HS posted here? https://slickdeals.net/f/17305906-asus-vivobook-16x-16-fhd-ips-ryzen-7-5800hs-12gb-ddr4-512gb-ssd-419-99. It seems like the processor here is better, but the Ryzen has a better igpu?

If this laptop could be broken into 3 parts: a cpu (in a mini pc form), keyboard & mouse and a 15.6" 1080p monitor, then I would buy it.

Specs are almost perfect, expect it really needs more USB-C ports - ideally thunderbolt or USB4.
Thunderbolt for $392 will have to be a used or refurb model.

So how does the zip pay work guys? How much is their total fees if you pay it in 4 installment payments? and how about if you pay it in full?

Tempted. Wish it was instant rebate and there is no need for installments to apply for the extra extra discount.

Any one knows if this can add a 2nd SSD?

BTW, MSI Modern 14 14" Ultra Thin and Light Laptop AMD Ryzen 7-7730U UMA 16GB 512GB [newegg.com] is another option if you like AMD or 14" better. It is $409 after $100 rebate before 15% off ZipPay.

Of note: Never used Zip pay. It says there may be a $6 fee. Sounds like there will be a $6 fee.laugh out loud
But maybe not if you can pay it off right away, I am told. Thanks Suryasis.
There will be a $6 finance charge; IIRC it's rolled into the first payment.

The one where you can avoid the finance charge is Affirm, but that is a different payment type completely.

Thanks. So, zip pay is a BNPL platform and can be paid off immediately ? Do you know if zip pay payment will earn 5% with U.S.Bank cash+ electronics category ? Regular Newegg checkout will, I believe.
When you checkout, you make the first installment. In my only experience, you can pay off the rest right away IF you download the phone app. The Zip web site just doesn't support that feature.

I'm fairly certain the Zip transaction would not qualify for any special promotion from US Bank or other CC companies.

That's skeezy as hell. I was thinking about buying it, but I'm so tired of these platforms playing games with consumers. Just say no.
