Of course, I already have a DCF923, so I don't need this regardless. I mostly came on here to say that this tool is freaking awesome... So handy for all the typical socket work (lag screws, bolts on cars, etc)--works way better (and is smaller) than sticking an adapter on my impact driver.
I paired this with the DCF891 for the (imo) perfect 1-2 punch. But the 891 will likely be waaaay more than I will ever need--I haven't even used it yet! So far, the 923 has handled everything I've needed.
I also have the dcf891 and was wondering if I could use this.
It seems like it's a good price given the search results I see on slickdeals

If you're looking for a good price on the battery, get the square sander for $159. The battery becomes much cheaper.
Thanks for the heads up. If I bought, it would be for the 923b though. I have a dcf891 but now I want a 3/8 for some stupid reason too!
The battery would be like $80. I think you can return the tool if I'm not mistaken. You can also put a 3/8 anvil in the DCF850.
1) Deal is about 3 weeks old when you posted, on SD it may not be valid still even if it shows (this one is NOT dead)
2) Read the description of this deal and maybe it'll give you a hint of how to get this price.
3) If you still can't figure it out, read through the comments before making this comment...

If you can't figure it out with this info, I'm not sure what to tell you...
May try to resell the battery on FB marketplace for like $120 or $140 before returning it.
