watch was DOA. orange apple logo and wouldn't charge. My poor mother went to the Apple Store after we chatted online with support, saying they would replace it. Apple Store says it was sold over a year ago and the warranty was expired. I opened the box and it was Apple sealed and completely untouched. Might have been a very unlucky purchase on my end, but Apple told my mom anyone selling the 8 still is probably not selling a new device (lies, but still very annoying)

Is the deal for GPS or Cellular?
Just because that was a better deal doesn't mean this is not a deal, too.
Keep in mind that was a clearance price that isn't available anymoreโฆ
Also, not everyone needs cellular.
Those both lasted a very short time. Those were better deals but this deal is the best at the moment. If you need a watch, then don't wait. I doubt these prices will go much lower. I have used a S8 and S9 and even though the S9 is supposed to be the first speed update since S6, I don't see much of a difference in day to day usage.
Keep in mind that the Series 10 (could be called Series X like the iPhone X) is rumored to be a huge update (unless they delay it to next year). They haven't updated the actual size/dimensions since S7 and is likely going to happen this Sept, given they changed the chassis every 3 years since the AW was released (S0 and 1 were 38 & 42 mm in sizes, S4 went to 40 & 44 mm sizes and S7 went to 41 & 45 mm sizes)

True, but a true SDer would want the best deal possible, if available.
I resell my family's watches when we upgrade and the LTE versions do have better resale value.

Warranty starts when you purchase it new. You have to call Apple and give them a copy of your receipt
