I own this Laptop. Some things not mentioned in the specs:

Fingerprint reader in the power button for Windows Hello.
1 spare m.2 slot for additional ssd (2x total)
USB-C charging is possible up to 140w (with Lenovo's 140w USB-C charger)
Some reviews state G-Sync can be enabled when using the d-GPU only, others state this does not have G-Sync. (I should test this, but am not sensitive to screen tearing so I don't notice it to begin with).
Aluminum lid and base plate.
Charging brick is significantly smaller than the bricks for the Legion 5 Slim 16" model and others with a 200W+ brick.
Dedicated calculator Fn button (lol).

I also purchased an Asus g14 and objectively the screen, build quality, and cooling on this laptop is head and shoulders above the g14 - all without any extra tweaking.

On the negative side, this laptop has all soldered RAM, but it's ddr5-6400 at least. In comparing 780m performance between games with the 32gb version I ordered from Lenovo directly, I haven't seen any marked difference. Power users may see a difference in some specific use-cases.

A little review after owning mine for a while. I've owned lots of laptops over the years, including several MacBooks/Pros, Alienware, Spectre x360, and have replaced my Zephyrus G15 with this Lenovo Legion Slim.

The size and weight are excellent. It's lightweight and thin, and gaming performance is still very good.

When not in gaming performance mode, I regularly get 8-9 hours on a charge with office and web use. Definitely a solid workday laptop that doesn't look like a gamer laptop to the untrained eye.

The keyboard is good. The touchpad is fantastic. Superior to my Zephyrus track pad, and on par with MacBook pro and HP Spectre quality. It's accurate, clicks are perfect, gestures are intuitive and smooth - it's easily one of the best track pads out there on a modern laptop. This surprised me, as I didn't think the Zephyrus track pad was particularly bad.

The screen is where this thing leaves competitors in the dust. Getting that sharp of an OLED screen with the taller aspect ratio for $1100-ish, WITH a 4060??

Hella fine deal. I am very pleased with the laptop over all, and even 16GB should be good for the lifespan of the laptop for gaming and basic work, at least. I did pay a little more and get the 32gb when I bought mine because I do heavy video and photo editing on mine.

Games don't ever use it all, but video and photo projects gobble up RAM in a hurry!

Overall, highly recommend this laptop, and am happy to answer any questions about it, including comparing to competing models.

One odd thing missing is USB4. You're stuck with the included 4060 graphics since an eGPU isn't an option.

edit: one other odd thing - going from performance graphics mode to integrated only for max battery life requires a restart. on my Zephyrus it didn't, so this is strange and inconvenient to me. If someone knows something I'm missing, please let me know.

I believe this model of lenovo should have the dedicated mux switch so switching from integrated to dpu doesn't require a restart. I know the cheaper lenovo loq models have it
My experience is the same as TheZander. Going from full dGPU to iGPU and vice versa requires a restart.

My solution is to leave it in hybrid or the auto mode which utilizes both GPUs depending on load. Supposedly you can use the Nvidia Optimus options to switch from dGPU to iGPU without a restart but I'm not sure. The hybrid mode offers plenty of performance for my needs.

Ordered the deal Dealer_Of_Slickness posted with the 32gb RAM. I was basically given a ship date of 3/19 but it shipped 3 days after I purchased it and will be here on 2/28.

Glad it was quicker. Was talking to my wife about it and she laughed at how long shipping would take. She's an Apple fan so she just walks into Costco or whatever and is out the door with a device. No waiting a month for shipping haha.

Eluktronics has what seems to be an ok deal but I'm more familiar with Lenovo. [progamerstech.com]

Totally fine with the soldered RAM in this. I'll hand it down to one of my kids, sell it off or recycle it later. Didn't purchase an OLED thinking it would last forever.
If she needs a customized Macbook (basically anything that is not the base configuration), she'll need to wait half a month as well. On the other hand, Lenovo's order usually doesn't take the estimated one month (just like in your case) -- I just got a customized ThinkPad after about 17 calendar days -- that's with the Chinese New Year in the middle. But I get the point and Lenovo could have done better.

This one from Best Buy is $1,049.991. $130 less with 16GB versus 32GB.

If I use this mainly for gaming, should I just go with the 16GB RAM one? Everything else looks the same as far as I can tell??
I bought this from Best Buy the last time it was on sale a couple of weeks ago purely to game with my family. I had the same thought about the 32GB of RAM one.

Honestly, I've not had any issues at all with 16GB. I added a 2TB SSD on top of the existing 1TB SSD, and that still came out cheaper than getting it from Lenovo with the 32GB upgrade and I've found no issues with less RAM.

You'll likely hit GPU limitations on this before RAM would be a problem as long as you're just gaming. If you're going to be running lots of Docker containers, VMs, and things like that, sure, the RAM would be really useful. For gaming though, this thing runs great with 16GB, and the screen is amazing for the price.

I do dbase work. I need 32gb.

I do not game on laptops, and would especially avoid it on a 14". The 4060 is just a bonus for me if I really want to game. I'm a 4090, 48" oled desktop type guy for gaming needs.

I plan on giving this to my kid in like 2-4 years.

I can't tell if this comment is really here to add anything other than a little bragging about your spending habits. But I will say that if you don't need the dGPU there are other OLED options that have larger screens that might be better for purely working.

The new OLED G14 is such a terrible value compared to this

I wanted a 14" for portability. Absolutely aware of laptops with better specs in the 15"+ range.

Bragging here about spending habits means nothing. Nobody knows who I am and never will. Pointless. I've been on this site for years and only made an account recently. Don't give a shit about points or anything.

What are you here for? I grabbed your deal and thumbed it up. Take it.
You can get an ASUS Zenbook 13 OLED w 32GB RAM if portability is your main concern and you don't really need the dGPU.

The MacBooks are nice but one thing that sucks about the 2020+ ones is if anything fails and I mean anything you need a new motherboard.

It's a 105 watt 4060. That is essentially "full powered" because Nvidia sets the voltage limit on all mobile 4060's, which makes increasing wattage over 105 leads to little, if any, gains.

Basically the same model is on sale here somewhere but on Antoine on eBay with the 4060 for $849.99 but the m.2 is only 512 I think. Correct?
This is a totally different laptop. Very different screen technology, different size, build quality and CPU.

I'm here to help people who might have questions about this laptop since I own it. You don't see me talking about my other setups unless it's for practical comparison purposes.

You'll see that I've responded to a few questions, and will continue to try and do so. What are you here for?

I'm glad you benefitted from it, but frankly, you can keep your thumbs up on "my" deal. In fact, I'll go into that deal and thumb it down, because I just don't care. SD makes the money on the referral, not me. I don't farm for rep like some other posters here who literally spend the entire day posting deals, when they're not even staff.

13 too small. The GPU is a bonus as I DO game, it's just not something I'll mainly do on this laptop.

It's a side thought.

This thread is going downhill.
