If you were unhappy about the 4GB in the TCL tablet deal from earlier, you're really not going to like the only 3GB in this one. But it does get Android 13, according to this review [androidauthority.com].

Good point, but if you get the 64 GB or 128 GB version, I believe those versions of the Tab A8 at least have 4 GB, although those are of course more expensive.

One of the few Samsung devices that you can install LineageOS on and that works without much issue: https://xdaforums.com/t/rom-unoff...e.4588269/

Havw had this tablet for about a year now and am very happy with it for Plex/Youtube/reading

How does the performance of Lineage on this tablet compare with the original Android?

Legit question from a Samsung user/fan. Aside from being slimmer, and in the Samsung ecosystem, why wouldn't I just get something like say a Blackview Rugged tablet with the same screen size, way better battery life, waterproofness, and very smiliar if not better cameras for around $50-100 more? I use a Note 10+ as my daily driver, and I haven't owned a tablet yet, I either use my desktop or Laptop, but have been debating getting a tablet for ease of use and portability.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ (2023) is significantly faster and better than [notebookcheck.net] this Tab A8. CPU is 3 generations newer (Cortex A78 vs A75), UFS 2.2 storage vs eMMC (which kept the old A-series slow), Much brighter 460 nits screen vs 340 nits for outdoor use. It is available in 4/64 or a whooping 8/128 configuration. 4/64 was as low as $190 though I'd recommend waiting for the 8/128 which was a steal for $220 at Amazon/B&H and Best Buy in Janurary. The Tab A9+ is basically Tab S7 FE spec and performance for the price of an A-series.

For comparison, the Amazon Fire HD 10 (2021) uses the MediaTek MT8183 / Helio P60T (Cortex A73), Fire HD 10 (2023) uses the MT8186 (A76), Fire Max 11 (2023) uses the MT8188 (A78). Many recent China tablets (Allocube, LincPlus) use the Helio G99 (A76) or UNISOC T618 (A75).

I would suggest that at $40 more for the A9+ 4/64 version currently on Amazon, it's still a much better buy than the A8, especially once you consider that it will likely be good for several years longer.

it is funny how you use the NEWEST samsung and compare it to last year's model HD10.

I've been an Android phone user for over twelve years now, starting from early Nexus devices, to Pixels, to Samsung now. I've tried a few Google / Samsung devices throughout the years, but they all look like a phone OS stretched out to a larger screen. IPad offers a much better user experience for a tablet, consider trying one out before jumping into Android tablet environment.

I'm a little suspicious of these nonbranded tablets. Specs sound good on the surface but you're not going to get any after-sale support, and a couple of reviews mention some failures. And fakespot gives it a D, although I don't know if there are enough reviews to get a meaningful rating.

I have the iplay 50 mini pro and I approve. Zero bloatware, super clean android 13. 8GB with 256GB, screen nice enough.
