I bought the Recon 1.0 last summer for $80 and they've been great! Good all around shoe for road, gravel and mountain biking. The Recon 2.0 with boa is also on sale for $100.
I can't see my shoes while riding, so color is irrelevant to me. Unless I'm on roads, then a light bright color can help make you more noticeable. But these shoes are available in 8 colors so surely there's something there that you might like.
Thanks for posting the deal, Skillfulhamster. I ordered a bunch of stuff, including a couple more of the $50 Demo Pro pants[specialized.com] and the slightly cheaper trail pants[specialized.com] (because some mountain bikers seem to have an issue with middle aged men in lycra).
Nice! I've been lurking on Slickdeals for well over 10 years so happy to finally contribute!

I returned the trail pants I bought last time. They are so fitted (tighter than skinny jeans) there's no way my feet were gonna go thru, and I'm not even fat.
As a road cyclist, I favor MTB cleats for their double-sided design, making them quicker to clip into as my Road cleat cohorts are fumbling after stop signs. Additionally, MTB shoes offer the convenience of walking normally, unlike the awkward duck walk associated with the road cleats. Currently, I have the Giro version of these shoes with the three Velcro straps, but they're starting to show signs of wear. Perhaps it's time to consider picking up a new pair.

Thanks Op!
I switched to MTB shoes 8 years ago best decision ever. I'm still using the same cleats from 8 years ago. I used to replace them 2-3 times a year.

Needed a replacement for shoes that were given to me that are falling apart and probably a size too small. I'm in for a pair.
