You're right, I didn't see the model # change, updated my previous comments!

Looks like the 10AH one is the 'XP' version with more torque & a longer battery warranty.

LM2156SP: 56V 10.0Ah ARC Lithium™
Cutting torque:

LM2156SP: 8.3 ft-lbs
Battery Warranty:

LM2135SP: 3-year
LM2156SP: 5-year with registration

I think this is a great deal on a great mower. I bought this last year when it was $699, and I didn't get the extra battery. I opened a Lowe's account to get an extra $100 off when I bought mine, which they're doing right now through 3/6 (20% off, up to $100).

Really the battery costs these days. If you take the battery out of the equation, the 10AH battery included is $500 MSRP.

MSRP the mower is $850-500 = $350.

The 5AH free battery you get with this deal is $300 MSRP.

Since the mower + 10AH is $750 (using that $350 for the mower cost).. you're paying $400 for the 10AH battery + 5AH battery which are normally $800 MSRP together.

It's 50% off batteries and they're throwing in a free mower. haha

I have their batteries for like 8 years now, no issues whatsoever.
As well you should. I have batteries from other mfgs without issue too. They're commodity hardware. Which is also why I said you're overpaying for Ego batts.

EGO batteries are made by Techtronic Industries Co. Ltd, headquartered in Hong Kong, China

Thanks for pointing this out. Going to send to a friend. The 7.5AH version shows 428.81 in my cart. Not sure how amazon handles the returns.
Hi - Pls post an update if your friend was able to return the battery

Just an FYI, the lawn mower isn't returnable on Amazon. It says no returns. I tried to cancel to order from Lowes to get a return policy with the lawn mower and Amazon would not let me cancel the order. My dumb ass only noticed this nonreturnable policy the minutes after I ordered and I tried to cancel, but was unsuccessful.

It's showing "Eligible for Return… within 30 days of receipt" on my Amazon account

Are you sure? I'm looking at the listing now and it gives the usual 30 day boiler plate, though it isn't a free return...even mattresses are returnable in my XP.

See attachment. My order doesn't say anything about a 30 day return. You have to click on the mower in the bundle listing.

Both of the bundle listings show this for me:

Ships from
Amazon.com
Sold by
Amazon.com
Returns
Eligible for Return, Refund or Replacement within 30 days of receipt

Your screen shot is just for the mower listing not the bundle. Anyway the reason for no returns is because of the batteries. Interesting that the bundle listing which has an extra battery is still returnable.

Yes, it's very confusing. I wonder if they labeled as nonreturnable because their algorithm thinks it's a gas lawn mower.

I kept going back and forth and there is no question for the average person a gas mower will always come out ahead financially especially over the long run. But you know what? I am looking forward to not messing with oil and gas etc. With the 5 year warranty I feel a bit better with my choice. Happy mowing.
I have all the ego yard tools. They are a pleasure to use, the tribulations of a battery are far less unpredictable as a gas engine. Additionally there is a pleasure factor to using them. The lack of engine noise, almost all of the weight is the battery. I really wish ego would make a really nice powerful tiller. But I snagged that champion rear tine tiller 75% off home Depot deal a while back.

Hi - Would someone provide a high-level comparison between EGO, Greenworks and Ryobi?

I see EGO has 56v on all lawn tools, and Greenworks does not.
I am already in the Ryobi 18v ecosystem, but not 40v or higher.

Thank you kindly.

The thing that concerns me the most is battery availability in 7-8+ years. That's probably why I'll go with Ryobi. Cheaper buy-in price. Cheaper batteries. Off-brand batteries readily available on Amazon.

Greenworks seems to change battery systems every year (24v vs 40v vs 60v vs 80v)...and who knows where Ego will be 10 years.

Fwiw they've been around for a decade or so. Considering how many units they've sold of they disappear a third party will probably start making batteries

Cashback potentially in addition to Lowe's credit card savings if you have one...Also, easier returns if necessary...
