Now they've done it...
New wording for Metro unlock policy:

https://www.metrobyt-mobile.com/t...ock-policy

"Unlock eligibility requirements
We unlock mobile devices that meet the following eligibility criteria free of charge:

The device must be purchased from Metro by T-Mobile.
The device must not be reported as lost, stolen or blocked.
Three hundred sixty-five (365) days must have passed since the device's activation date."

Should obviously only apply to purchases made after they changed the rules.
But might have to fight for that...
scroll down to Port your Google Voice number out to another carrier

Same here. The fact that I got 19 free iPhone11's from Tracfone but never kept one to use tells you that I don't really care for Apple and their products. I probably will sell my Metro iPhone12 after it got unlocked and I'm done playing with it.

Yes. But now that the port failed once, Google has changed the status of the number. You can never port it out again. A GV number that can be ported out always shows lock or unlock button.
I think I found the solution! I just transfer my GV number to my another Google account and now I see unlock button again. I need to pay $3 again to unlock but now I got the control back.

I did a Metro deal once before but I cannot remember the process. Someone please remind me.

So I placed an order with the $40 plan. I entered my credit card to pay for the 1st month. Do I need to create an account when I get the phone and then manually go cancel the plan? Or is it not on Autopay by default meaning I can just ignore the whole thing if I only intend to pay for the 1st month?

Nice. That's great. Did you have to pay a fee to transfer the number to another account?

Exactly. Apple used the useless lightning port for their phones and made tons of money for decades. Stopped only when EU compelled them with a lawsuit. They were the first company to remove the Charger brick from new phones and also the headphone jack. Apple charges the most for bump in storage from 64->128->256 - even though the flash memory itself is super cheap. They offered 64 GB when most phones were offering 128 GB. I could go on and on, but all they care about is making more money.
Do you think when you sell the iPh12, you will get more than what you paid for? I guess the sellers would be those in that spreadsheet you shared the other day?

No. Transfer between google account is free. But it says can only transfer the number once every 4 months. And the texts and call history remains original account.

Experiencing the dreaded technical issues in Arc (Chromium).

Is it possible to continue the process on another browser?

It looks the info is already captured in the browser's cookies (or however it does it).

Forgot about that! But... sorry I'm a noob. If I started a new incognito session, I still can't continue the process though. I'm at the part where I've entered my number, pin, and zip code.

I agree with all your points about Apple. I started working with mainframe computers in 1977. Bought my first personal computer (Atari 800) in 1980 and built many PCs from parts after that. Never bought an Apple PC, or Macs, or iSomething because they're overpriced and used propriertary Apple accessories.

As for reselling, I can turn around and sell my Metro iPhone12 next week as "locked to Metro/T-mobile" for $202, a small profit from the $175 that I paid Metro. Six months from now, its value will drop some from the current $234 for unlocked, but I will still make some money.

Your new account is not active yet, you can activate it from the shipping email, however you won't be able to access it, you need to have the new phone in your hand because they need to send a code via txt in order to access your account
