Now they've done it...
New wording for Metro unlock policy:

https://www.metrobyt-mobile.com/t...ock-policy

"Unlock eligibility requirements
We unlock mobile devices that meet the following eligibility criteria free of charge:

The device must be purchased from Metro by T-Mobile.
The device must not be reported as lost, stolen or blocked.
Three hundred sixty-five (365) days must have passed since the device's activation date."

Should obviously only apply to purchases made after they changed the rules.
But might have to fight for that...

Your account number is your google voice phone number. The pin is the one you set up in Google voice to check voice messages.

I think the Google Voice Porting didn't work properly. The Calls and texts are not working. Metro also didn't send a text indicating line activation. Called customer service and they are clueless.

So the phone might NEVER get unlocked. Because if the port doesn't happen, then technically the phone wasn't activated on the Metro network.

From what I have heard GV is the landline number, you need to wait for a few days to be ported completely

I received an email from Tmobile saying you have activated your phone (GV-ported). I can make outgoing calls from my mobile phone, but incoming calls are not working. If I call from my other mobile number, I can get a busy tone.

Also, SMS isn't working outgoing or incoming apart from those codes from 611.

I can login to my metro account using my GV ported number, and everything looks good under my account (standalone line, cost per month, etc.).

Nobody is going to use that number beyond this deal, so I am not worried. Anyway, after 30 days, service will be suspended, and the GV number is gone for good. Anything I doing wrong

The phone hasn't been activated on the Metro network. So probably won't be unlocked in 6 months. Unless the number is fully transferred and the port is complete.

If it is not fully ported, then how come it shows as active on the TMobile account login page?

Only option on google voice was delete as soon as number was reserved by tmobile.

I can also see phoner number GV port phone number on Razr 2023.

* I don't think Metro sends a text indicating the phone was activated. But they've always sent an email with the title "You did it! Your phone is active" after my Metro phones were activated. That email shows the activation date and the phone number. That's proof that the phone was activated on Metro.
* On my iPhone12, in Settings-->Phone-->My Number, it shows the number that I ported in. That's enough proof to prove that my phone number was ported in.

I have same issue.. I called customer service. They activated the number. I tried making call. It worked then. But later it is not able to make calls. When I try making call from another device, I hear message from Google Voice: the GV number voice mail is not setup.

Edit: I'm receiving authentication texts from Metro with the codes.

The number was ported in, however GV numbers are landlines so you can't receive calls or texts until the port in fully completed

Yeap on Andriod (Razr 2023) About phone clearly says metro pcs and GV number.

I can make calls from the number but incoming calls and SMS (both way not working) means some provisioning isn't done properly on metro network.

It doesn't mean we have not activated or ported number fully on metro from GV.
