Now they've done it...
New wording for Metro unlock policy:

https://www.metrobyt-mobile.com/t...ock-policy

"Unlock eligibility requirements
We unlock mobile devices that meet the following eligibility criteria free of charge:

The device must be purchased from Metro by T-Mobile.
The device must not be reported as lost, stolen or blocked.
Three hundred sixty-five (365) days must have passed since the device's activation date."

Should obviously only apply to purchases made after they changed the rules.
But might have to fight for that...
scroll down to Port your Google Voice number out to another carrier

That's great. How much did you get the iphone 11 for?
And what was the cost of the plan if you don't mind me asking. Was it $40 each time?
My 1st i11 was $0 + $65 plan = $65. The 2nd one was $50 (they raised the price) + $5 tax + $30 plan = $85. So the average is $75 each.

It finally worked for me when I used my cell phone.

Quote from ChaosBait :
Same here. Tried with different addresses, different cards, different browsers, always deleted the browsing data first, still the same issue. Calling that number also didn't help.

Any tips anyone?

It's possible that the phone was purchased in a store without a plan (when the buyer wants to upgrade their Metro phone), so its SIM was not automatically activated. To activate your phone, go to this site: https://www.metrobyt-mobile.com/r...s/activate , scroll down until you see "Did you purchase your Metro phone or SIM card from another retailer?" and use that option to activate your phone without an order number.
Thanks. Just tried the link, and got blocked by error:

"The serial number XXX cannot be activated without a status change. Call Centers should refer the customer to their place of purchase. Corp Stores should work with their store managers and regional support teams. Dealers should verify the IMEI is correctly received in inventory and reattempt the transaction, contacting their ASR if the problem persists."

So seems no go. Also am curious what that means...

1- 2/17/24 Ordered moto stylus and created my 1st and only Account.
2- 3/5/24 Ordered iPhone11 0+40, activated upon receiving.
3- 3/6/24 Ordered iPhone11 0+40, activated online (after reading comments here to test it), then opened after receiving to check calling status.
4- 3/8/24 Ordered iPhone12 (as 11 is now 50) 99+tax+40( total 146.99)activated without opening and on the way to be delivered on 11th.

And I can still see add a line option. I can log into account using all 3 numbers.

As info for order # 3 & 4 I used my deleted GV number which were failed during ordering process(again after reading comments here).
I deleted those out of frustration thinking those numbers are gone after seeing error and then subsequent this number is not eligible message
So you can use your deleted GV#.

Though I paid full 40 monthly charge, it prorated and asking to make bill payment by 3/18, which I won't anyway.

And still no incoming calls on my both 11s but outgoing is ok. Not worried as these are my experiments and already gifted to my friends . will see how these unlocks in month of sept.
And yes metro site is very unpredictable at first if not reading all the comments here.

Bottom line read comments and read comments.

I don't know for sure, but sounds to me like that phone has a questionable status. Maybe it "fell off the truck" Big Grin

You can check its IMEI at this link and see if it's blacklisted. https://imeicheck.com/imei-blacklist-check

How much was the plan for your iph12 order?
I made a mistake of ordering iph 12s and didn't order the iPh 11.
Now when analyzing the trade in values of both iPhones, the 12 is surprisingly close to the 11. So it might have been financially better to order the 11s as you did.

I bought the i12 with a $65 plan. As I mentioned previously, I wanted to use it to see if I can tolerate Apple's way of doing things, because occasionally there are some bank and movie deals that are only available on iOS devices. I bought the i12 for that purpose because the i12 has better specs than the i11. But if I don't like it, I have no qualm about reselling it.

It's interesting that so many are buying as trade ins.
My son and dil both have iphone 11s so in September I'll upgrade them to 12s from this deal. My DD is an iPhone 14 and honestly the 12 seems just as responsive and is just a little worse in photography.

I got to the very very very end, entered my credit card, and then got an error, and told to go into the store. Now when I try again with my number, I get a message of "Unfortunately, this number can't be transferred. Try another number or choose a new number to continue". Huh...?

Makes sense. For me, I can never use an iPhone even if I got it for free. My purchase is just for other family members in case they need it. If not, I will have to trade it in for the next Android phone. Haven't sold phones directly and wouldn't buy them just for flipping.

I'm just hoping that these phones hold their value while trading in. Just kicking myself of making the mistake of not getting the iPhone 11 which was cheaper and had nearly as good trade in value.

How did you activate without opening? In my case the activate button is greyed out on the order status.

Thanks.
Just tried the IMEI check and found it's clean.
Further, the site even provided unlock function!

Is the MetroByt just MetroPCS? Seems needs pay $15. But as long it's legit, I'd like a try.

Anyone had unlock XP on this site before? Can they guarantee unlock successful or refund if failed?

That would be enabled after you receive "Good news! Your order has shipped." mail

So I received and activated a $40 line + a $20 tablet line a few days ago. Today when I logged into my account, I see the following:

Balance:$58.67
Due by:April 5, 2024
Your account is active

This is for next month's service right? As long as my Autopay setting is off, they will just shut off the line on April 5th?

So I received and activated a $40 line + a $20 tablet line a few days ago. Today when I logged into my account, I see the following:

Balance:$58.67
Due by:April 5, 2024
Your account is active

This is for next month's service right? As long as my Autopay setting is off, they will just shut off the line on April 5th?
yes and no,
the phone's voice function would be shutdown immediately when the balance is due. but data would still work for another week, after that your account will be in suspended mode...
