Now they've done it...
New wording for Metro unlock policy:

https://www.metrobyt-mobile.com/t...ock-policy

"Unlock eligibility requirements
We unlock mobile devices that meet the following eligibility criteria free of charge:

The device must be purchased from Metro by T-Mobile.
The device must not be reported as lost, stolen or blocked.
Three hundred sixty-five (365) days must have passed since the device's activation date."

Should obviously only apply to purchases made after they changed the rules.
But might have to fight for that...

Have you been able to use it in Verizon network? My metro A54 works on AT&T and TMobile, but not Verizon. I've been wondering if it's because it's not on their white list. When I type in IMEI on verizon'e BYOP site, they tell me the phone won't work. That suggests it's not just a firmware issue.
My Metro Samsung A54 works on Visible, which is Verizon MVNO.

Someone mentioned in a different thread about the special APN configuration of Verizon. Try to google search. Hopefully, you have an active SIM card and are not trying to activate service using Metro A54 (that might create an issue as my visible SIM was an active one).

When a phone is not on Verizon or Visible whitelist, USUALLY it will work (if it has compatible hardware) if you swap in an active SIM, but you can't activate a new SIM because its IMEI won't pass the check.

That's why I said he couldn't activate the service, but again, many have done it in the recent past. It is possible they have updated their database or whatever that whitelist is.

Was it difficult to get them to transfer you to the Port Dept? Did the Port Dept complete for you the port of more than one phone?
They place you on hold and it takes several minutes. I told them it was happening on all 3 lines and they manually ported all of them while I was on the phone. They said that department is really busy on Saturday due to smaller staff and best to call back during the week. Port Dept number: 800-518-7519

Called Metro. Asked them to connect to port department. Spoke to them and port complete. Receiving incoming calls now. Received email from google that number has been ported away. So google voice customers call and complete your port.

All lines are new. I waited for each one to be activated before adding a line. I ported 3 numbers from Google to get the discount on phones and the monthly price shows $103.33 for all 3 even though it says $40 for each line if I click on each individually.

Just a heads up. Once the port completes properly then you can use that number again to get a new Google Voice number during verification process.

I doubt they will. If they really wanted to enforce that policy then it seems like they would have a block on ordering more than 2 with port but I don't know. Time will tell.

Also, did you reboot your phone after calling in to port? I got the OTP instantly. Try it again. Sometimes the text doesn't always go thru.

I called the porting number. They just said wait 10 -15 business days more since it's a landline number. They didn't do anything at all.

For those who got the request completed successfully, what did you tell the agent?
