Now they've done it...
New wording for Metro unlock policy:

https://www.metrobyt-mobile.com/t...ock-policy

"Unlock eligibility requirements
We unlock mobile devices that meet the following eligibility criteria free of charge:

The device must be purchased from Metro by T-Mobile.
The device must not be reported as lost, stolen or blocked.
Three hundred sixty-five (365) days must have passed since the device's activation date."

Should obviously only apply to purchases made after they changed the rules.
But might have to fight for that...
scroll down to Port your Google Voice number out to another carrier

"Yes in what in the Annals of Slickdeals will forever be known as the "Crimsonhill804 trick". I was able to order a third iPhone 12 on my account. Again the trick is to take the first phone you got for the Metro account, log in with WiFi off and go to add a line. Got another iPhone for $130 plus tax. Same name address and cc."
read @roberthid comment above to get three iphone 12...hope you get first line successfully as many fail to do so..

Great deal.

Got a iphone 11 (free) with GVoice number, no issues.
Got the phone today, I had to go to my old email to find the order #, and activate it that way before I could get anything sent to my phone. And than i login to the metro website and took a look. Currently as of this date (activation date), phone out from the MetroPCS phone works but not call in. Calling my port-in number still goes to GVoice but that's fine.

Don't bother setting up autopay, but i was able to order a 2nd iPhone but a 12 this time. I'll be porting out both of them on the 3rd week as I wanted to keep these number, and keep the phone in my drawer until trade-in time or sell time.

So, $65 for iPhone 11 and than $138ish for iPhone 12.
Went and got a 3rd phone. A iPhone 12 using the Crimsonhill method. Didn't tried other method.

No issues. Same as before, using a new GVoice number.

purchased Saturday afternoon at 5pm. Delivery shows this Friday. The first one I purchased was last month from Total by Verizon for free with port in then add the $50. plan. It came to $53. If you don't need the included Tracfone plan (you also get a basic case and charger plug of which these items are not included with Total) get the Total phone. Very little bloatware with these and no Total by Verizon screen flashed. Much cleaner than the Moto's.
Was finally able to get a A15 from Total the other day with the $50 plan. I guess yours is almost up for unlock. Let me know how that goes. Thanks.

I tried to port a boost number (ATT). Not from ebay, I have the sim in phone and can make calls. Called boost to get pin, ordered on metro, after a few min in number transfer page, it said transfer failed. Tried a few different computers, all the same. Any idea? Does boost lock number not allowing port out?
Boost (T-Mobile) worked for me. Direct line to MetroPCS port assistance: 800-518-7519.
U might want to verify your Boost PIN.

I regret stumbling on to this deal and losing time I will not regain... lol nothing but frustration with metro by tmobile website for days. damn website must have been setup in 2015 and never updated. very erratic and buggy POS site

Trying to port a number and keep getting:"We are experiencing technical difficulties. Please retry or reach out to metro support."
Agreed. It's a painful process dealing with their website while they work through the bugs. Much better than having to visit a retail store, however.

* When placing your order, did you go through the step of having Metro check your port-in number? If you didn't do that, or your port-in number didn't pass the check, then your order doesn't meet the port-in requirement and it'll show the full price.
* At which step did it say to contact Metro to complete your order? Is it AFTER it already said your port-in number was successfully reserved and you submitted the order? If yes, then your order failed because it didn't pass Metro's seemingly random rejection of some people's orders, NOT because your GV port-in failed.

See attachments.
I followed all steps correctly yet "due today" was $370.14 after two (2) successful port-in reservations (confirmed with port-in department). Have a support request (suggested by port-in dept ) for a resolution.

Does anyone know if the port out pin ever expires? I am just to get the pin while the phone still active & save it in case for future port out.
Don't hold me to this but Boost Mobile port-out department stated the PIN ID permanent. 🤷

Does anyone own both the Moto Stylus 2023 and Samsung A54 from them? I charged both to full and left them on for about 2 days with WiFi on and bluetooth off. The Moto was down to 94% battery life but the Samsung was 88%. I see that the Moto has 22.7 days standby time and the Samsung 12.9 days, but both have same size battery 5000 mAh. Is this typical of both phones? I'm thinking of exchanging the Samsung but not sure if that would extend the unlocking process or how well Metro processes returns.

the esim isn't being used on the iphones you would have to port another google voice number for the BYOD unlimited esim plan $25 on website. Looks like if get new number its only 10GB for $25

Is everyone still having an issue where after port in from GV, the messages are still coming to GV? It's been 2 weeks since my transfer, still happening.
