Why use plates, especially reusable ones, you can just clean the table after you are done eating
In all seriousness I think this is meant for people who know they are messy / careless but also like quickly 'cleaning' (aka throwing the dirty item away) from time to time. They also want said item to last for a while (thats were the "reusable" part comes into play). I imagine this would fit that use case.
What does it matter if it's lined or not. Both have to be cleaned.
