Aaaahhhh just found reason:

New process of producing OLEDs without rare earth minerals.

"The new process, in simplest terms, involves replacing those rare minerals with not-so-rare -- and therefore more affordable --- minerals. Diving into the science, the process involves grinding manganese bromide with benzyltriphenylphosphonium bromide. That solution is then dissolved into single MnBz crystals, which are used to create a light-emitting device (the LED part of OLED)."

So likely we see prices continue downward!

I've had the ST60 in my basement for over 10 years. It's been amazing. During covid purchased an LG OLED for the main floor and the brightness and pop are definitely noticeable. A few months ago my wife stated it looked dull which gave me the green light to shop. Problem is we don't use the basement like we used to.

This is the LOWEST price on this TV brand new!! I bought this for $2k a few months ago and it is STELLER. The best TV I have ever owned with jaw dropping picture and performance. Highly highly recommend!!

Was waiting for a decent deal on the 83 but at this price I had to cop the 77. Hopefully I won't miss the extra size. Watching from about 11 feet away.

Had a 9th gen calibrated Kuro for 10+ years and only switched(after much contemplation & debate) because of a great deal from a friend!

I get people make a big deal about brightness but it's only one of many factors regarding PQ.
In a light controlled room that Kuro easily held its own to Oled imo!

Buy now, think later. I just ordered this and have the Hisense 75" U8K that I bought a month ago. I'll see if Best Buy will price match and then cancel this order and use the Best Buy gift cards I have to buy it from them. The U8K will go back at this price!
